it has more to do with socioeconomic status than race. though race also has a very strong correlation with socioeconomic status; blacks tend to be poorer. of course, there will always be the punks of any race or the wannabes who have nothing better to do with their time than to be punks. also in reference above to russians, italians not being white. i think most are considering white as WASP (white anglo saxon protestant). so italians and russians are not white.

I disagree with that. I have seen many many good looking black women. Its not they are ugly that the are not getting jobs. its the fact many are not getting the education compared to whites/asian.

The question is why don't many blacks care about school? its not funding, or lack of resources. I think the black culture frowns on those that succeed in school.

Earlier today I observed two young black kids (13-15 years old) going door to door with a car wash bucket. They would knock on the door, and if noone was home they would check the front door to see if it was locked. Then, check the vehicle in the driveway (if there was one) to see if IT was locked.

I called the cops. Now my house is probably going to get vandalized - and probably by those black kids.


Now - feel free to point out the white/latino kids that do things wrong and how I'm racist and 'just won't admit it' - and 'just don't notice/care when the white kids do it'. Also point out that 'not all black kids are like that'.
It doesn't change the fact that the kids that ARE doing it TEND to be black.


This is an issue with the parents - who are also black.

even if "the man" isnt activly holding them back, to be the only black kids in a predominantly white neighborhood will probably lead to a certain alienated feeling. and kids are often rebellious/attention seekers when alienated.
i went to school in a pretty diverse area and if you were a black kid that lived in a white neighborhood you got pretty well S-ed on at school. so...it could be to identify themselves as not being part of the white community.
perhaps the parents arn't doing their job or are feeling the same alienation and vocalizing it in the home, making the kids feel as though "its not theirs" so there would be no reason not to vandalize things.
how knows? maybe they are just little f-ups and it just happens their black. i got no idea.

I have to say that I agree. I have been noticing on the news that almost every single time they talk about a local crime and show pictures or report the description, it is a black or mexican male. Then again, maybe white people are just smarter and dont get caught as often. Thats right, I said it, I am an intelligence racist

There is always a 'bad' side to any race/culture/creed

I work in inner city trauma hospital and we have many criminals pass through, many are black, some are white, some are latino.....we also have many homeless and extremely poor people come into the hospital and no matter what their color is...bad apples exist.

That being said many if not the majority of our patients are decent people just trying to get by in life. Heck we discharged a young black male who while having a somewhat checkered past for only being 19 tried and sadly failed to save a womans life he didnt know at the risk of his own. He saw a couple fighting then the man pull a knife and stab the woman multiple times in the chest and consequently he was stabbed twice in the abdomen trying to stop the man, he survived she didnt but I give the guy credit for doing what he did...

I understand where your racism comes from... it is relevant... there is certainly a subculture where gangbanging, thieving, and just generally being a selfish criminal prick are accepted and encouraged. And it exists overwhelmingly in the black community. This is a tragedy on many levels... 1 because here we are in 2006, when the racial boundaries that existed in this country for so long should finally be dissintegrating entirely.. and instead this subculture has served to reemphasize the very stereotypes civil rights activists have been working so hard to dissolve.

But the key here is to make the clear distinction that these criminals are not criminals because of their racial status as black... there is no physiological predisposition to crime simply because a person is black. It is a cultural problem... and it is VERY important that it be distinguished as such. Assuming a person is a criminal because he is black is absolutely racism of the worst kind... assuming a person who is walking down the street dressed like a gangsta is a criminal, is good common sense.

American way of raising children = let them stay outside all day unsupervised so they can mess up gardens, steal the water srpinkler and use your driveway to ride bikes age range (6-12). thats how it is in my neighborhood. 5 = white, 2= black all equally annoying.

I never see the partents even sit on the porch to keep an eye on them.

People blame the 'media' WAY too much

The media has a lot of influence on the way our children think, feel, and act. I don't care what you think. So does MTV, so does radio, so does billboards, etc. Children are in the process of learning who they are and fitting in to their peers. Media and television plays a big role into what they are supposed to be. There's no denying that.

I think it is just poor people who do things like this because they don't care if they get into trouble and could benefit more than lose. Of course it is their parents responsibility to prevent this.

When I was 10 (13 years ago), I used to go around and go into unlocked cars to take money. I am white and my parents could probably have been described as being well over middle class (if they weren't considered upper class).

Well, I live in an area with about a 50/50 mix of blacks and whites and haven't heard of much of any crime.

It doesn't take many bad apples to spoil a neighborhood. If those setting these trends happen to be black, then your observations could hold water for the small area around your house.

Yes, statisically the black and latino minorities commit the most crimes.

Socio-economic demographics have an influence on that, though the numbers are still disproportionately higher for thoes minorities.
