No I'm not *that* new to Linux, but I do have a simple yet irritating problem. I like to do most of my installations from the internet rather than downloading one large ISO. The problem is some Linux flavors require you to first enter the server, and then the directory. The problem is, for the life of me, I can never enter it the way the setup wants. For instance, I am installing openSUSE 10.2. I'm using Japan's servers. This is the address:
ftp://ftp.jaist.ac.jp/pub/Linu...ibution/10.2/repo/oss/
However I can not break it into the right order. I tried:
Server: ftp://ftp.jaist.ac.jp
Directory: pub/Linux/openSUSE/distribution/10.2/repo/oss
Server: ftp.jaist.ac.jp
Directory: /pub/Linux/openSUSE/distribution/10.2/repo/oss/
Along with several other combinations. I know this is a really simple matter. But could someone please tell me how you lay this stuff out in Linux. Then I can remember it and I wont have this stupid problem again. Thank you.
