Stupid obstacles to your plans?

Let's hear 'em.

One of mine is laundry. I need to buy some more gear (specifically, padded cycling shorts) so I'm not always running out. It sure would be handy to have my own washer/dryer instead of coin-op. Plan: maybe when I get my income-tax refund I'll buy some more gear.

Another one for me, is that I'm not a morning person by nature, and don't like starting my day earlier to work out. Plan: guess I could try setting myself a curfew and going to bed earlier... staring at a bright monitor at night is probably is not the ideal way to get to bed by 10PM :hmm:

Staying up to late.

As for clothes, go to Marshalls. You can save some money there and not feel bad about having a bnuch of running stuff.

My biggest issue is motivation. Wasn't a problem in the past but sometimes I jsut don't feel like lifting/runnign so I don't.

I'm my own obstacle. I took a 2 week break over the holidays and gained close to 15 lbs, and I look like shit again. Now I'm pissed off that it took me 6 months to look good again, and only 2 weeks basically voids all of that. I'm having a hard time getting back into my routine because I have the "what's the point" attitude. I need to somehow reboot my mentality on the whole thing.

I was thinking about that myself recently. It sounds trite, but for me, it's as much about the journey as the destination. Going out on group rides is fun in its own right, and happens to burn calories and tone muscles in the process. I have a lot easier time doing it for the instant gratification than the long-term result

When work picks up in the spring, I do lose motivation. Just lack of mental energy after a difficult workday, all I want to do is go home and veg out. Plan: instead of trying to work miracles by pulling 10-12 hour days, I may just need to let the poop hit the fan. "Sorry guys, start scheduling 2 weeks out, *I* need to have a life too. Or hire a second mechanic."

My biggest obstacle is work and commute. I work 10 hours a day 5 days a week and drive an hour and 15 minutes away from home. I have no desire to do anything but be a vegetable after work when I get home.

Part of my problem is I don't particularly enjoy the exercises I've been doing to lose weight/gain muscle. It's just regular repetitive routine weight lifting and cardio. I think I need to find something new that I would enjoy. There are only so many squats and deadlifts I can do before I get bored.

I can't do anything in the morning and food makes me sick until lunchtime. I'm pretty sure not eating for the first 5 hours of your day goes against most plans.

I also can't possibly maintain any normal diet... no time to eat 6 little meals and no desire to eat the same thing 5 times a week by preparing it ahead of time.

Similar problem here. My schedule is not conducive to that much eating, and morning food is misery.

Biggest issues right now stopping me from my goals:

1) Not eating enough
2) Not eating clean enough (more protein, less fats/carbs)
3) Not sleeping enough

Issues right now

1-Getting dark so early, right around 5 it is solid black
2-Cold, average here for the last month as been a 15-20F
3-Crap weather. Really easy to just stay home when its snowing with ice packed roads.
4-Holiday food yum

But... Since Ive been so lazy, I have not been sleeping as good and Ive put some lbs back on since the beginning of November. I really want to get back in the routine and get my 2012 goals achieved!! It also helps that my wife is finally wanting to get healthy with me. She is by no means near being a fatty but just wants to help me out by cooking healthy food and going to the gym as support.

food poisoning. Four days on the toilet eliminates any desire to work out. (hehehehe.... eliminates...) But at least I didn't gain any weight.

My biggest issue is either staying motivated or eating correctly. When I lose motivation I don't stop going to the gym but I don't put in 100% and it shows in the weight I move and the end result. Food also isn't a huge deal it's just a pain in the ass to eat 'clean' all the time and even more frustrating when I start eating lower quality foods and I lose more weight.

1. Owning a Harley in the Summer
2. Backlog of Video games
3. Work
4. After New Years rush of people in the gym (seriously it's dumb how people feel they need to work out after new years just to give it up less than a month later) I hate waiting I need a home gym

This is my short list of things that I would rather be doing or things that get in my way. But every time i lose 1 more pound or see 1 more line form in my muscles i realize its worth it.

To those of you who can't eat food in the morning, what is up with that? I have the same issue, but sometimes it will last all day, and I simply do not want to eat at all...but do anyway, of course.

My biggest problem is my appetite. I eat like a friggin grizzly getting ready for winter. People always assume I have a high metabolism because I'm lean. It is hard work believe me. I can eat in the morning, night, wake up in the middle of the night and eat more.
