Stupid question...

One of my friends has this weird idea that by copying his mp3's over a network somehow makes them sound worse. He claims he copied his mp3's off somebody elses machine (he was reformatting at the time so we stashed them on a diff machine) and in the process of them copying SOMEHOW they mysteriously sound horrible. They are the exact same size as before everyone of them finished but he swears by it... even getting pissed at me for disagreeing with him.

Question- Is there a link any of you might have to prove him wrong? You would think common sense would be enough but unfortunately it isn't in his case.

Transfering from computer to computer over a network is a digital connection, I don't see how a quality loss would be possible. THats why the RIAA hates MP3's, you can make a digital copy as many times as you like with no quality loss.

I suppose I thought this was funny more than anything. He worked in IT for 5 months when he was mysteriously "let go". He recently copied a divx movie (Vanilla Sky) from my machine... anyways it turns out it was a bad divx rip. Instead of thinking that he says to me "The network must have messed up the movie" The model citizen for IT work.. hahahah I suppose this post was more geared towards off topic... sorry guys heh.
