stupid win2k printing/networking problem

All of a sudden, this computer (win2k) which shares a printer throughout the floor's network cannot be accessed via network anymore.

The usernames are all the same, the passwords are all the same. The people attempting to connect to this computer are predominantly winxp users.

I've tried everything I can do. I reset everything, uninstalled reinstalled all networking components and alll computers.

First, this win2k computer does show up on the network, but it cannot be accessed. A simple user/password always worked until last week. I have two computers with this dilemma. I'm sick and tired of this stupid win2k and its harsh security settings. It slowed down business more than it protected.

The people at my work just want to print from their computers and now the two main computers that host the 2 main printers decided to not allow anyone have access.

Before you guys say it, YES, ALL THE USERNAME/PASSWORDS ARE SAME for the logins for all computers.
even if they're the same, the prompt for username/password comes up when people try to connect to the win2k printer server computer. I tell them to type in the user/pass (and chkmark "remember password") and it has always worked.

add a local admin account, on all pc's including the print servers

log into that account and setup the printers but BUT only use local port to do it DO NOT BROWSE.

then it wont ask for a username and pass to print. make sure though that the permissions for all users is corect

This may sound weird, but this happened to me once. The machine that is 'hosting' the printer ... is the guest account disabled? If so enable it and try again. Just to see
