Here is a nice quote I found taken from here

<< Anyone shopping for a sporty wagon or a performance car owes it to themselves to check out the WRX Sport Wagon. It is pure fun. >>

Good enough conclusion.. I like the WRX alot, the only thing I think is a semi-downside are the looks, the base model looks crappy, but the higher end versions look alot better and begin to look sweet.. It's a cool car.

<< Compare the car to it's competition if you're gonna bash it

Look at the RSX Type S, look at the Celica GT-S, now compare it to the WRX... doesn't seem like so bad of a deal considering it's performance now does it?
>>

We'll talk when the RSX Type-R gets here. =)

(BTW: I've seen it. We have a full Type-S to JDM Type-R conversion here in Richmond. Haven't driven it though but it looks...incredible.)

Good lord...why was I not told someone is bashing imports?

WickedMotorcar, if you think the WRX sucks, then you do have some grounds for it. It's a stripped American version much like what the EVO will be when it comes here.

However, if the car gods grant my wish and bring them in their beautiful JDM goodness...then think before you say the same thing about the WRX STi. 280hp of AWD baby. We'll see how your V8s do against a WRX on a rally course or anything else that actually requires turns. There's no frickin' way a Corvette or any American cars (other than a Focus, I'll give you that much...and that's only because Colin McRae drives one...) can handle like the WRX.

You are a liar and a moron. No one I've ever talked to has ever said anything bad about the WRX. My friend owns one and let me take it for a spin...that thing handles better than any car I've driven (which includes the Focus and the Audi A4 that you speak of.) So you own three Beamers and a Benz too?

Either way...if for some strange reason they do bring the Japanese Domestic Market models over here...I'd still pick a Acura RSX Type-R simply for the look...or a Lancer EVO VII. The WRX is a great car but it's not in the same league as the sweet looking RSX or the 300hp AWD stock EVO.

Liar.

Why would you call me a liar? I went to Canisius College located at 2001 Main St., Buffalo, NY. I then lived in Cheektowaga, NY which is about 5 miles outside the city. Do you want me to give you a run down on the layout of the city? Shut the f*ck up.

Holy motherf*ucker you are one stupid bastard. The corvette and most cars are not rally cars. Their purpose is not to go offroading on some dirt track out in redneckville. You sound like the ricest ricer that has ever lived. The STI does not give me a hardon like it does you 15 year old twits. 280 hp is not anything to get excited about, my car puts out over 330 to the wheels and I think that's slow. I do not own three BMWs and a Benz, I was just commenting on my experience with those cars in the past. They were cars owned by my family at the time. You are one sad sack of sh*t.

<< I can't find a ferrari or corvette with AWD - I can however find both porsche and lamborghinis with it...hmm.

As originally stated this is flame bait. You're just a dumbass who, lets not forget, said that "It feels like a 15,000 dollar car "

Well, that's one way to get banned...

So what you're saying is...the Corvette and most cars are not rally cars...then they're drag racers? Hmmm...I don't know about you...but in my mind, drag racing is more "redneckville" than rally or auto-cross.

Oh...and another thing, I do own a Benz but I plan to sell it if and when the JDM RSX gets here.

"Ricer" eh? Hmm...it seems that domestic enthusiasts like you have nothing better to do than call people who drive imports "ricers". In my mind, ricers are the guys with Altezzas and massive wings...not a import.

American cars are all pretty nasty looking compared to Japanese ones, in my opinion. Heh...read the sig.

i've been seeing a lot of camaro-wrx camparisons, so here's my take

<< so what a WRX can rally better than a camaro. the camaro wasnt made to rally it was made to be superior on the track and on the drag strip which it does very well considering the price >>

dunno about anyone else but most of my drives are more rally type than drag or street races. im taking corners with gravel on them. i brave snow and ice in winter and weeks of rain-slicked streets in spring. sure i like performance, but i can't afford a different car for each season. in fact i prolly can't afford an audi either (in college). as far as im convinced if i was going to buy what i consider a sporty car, the WRX would most likely be my choice. did i mention fuel economy? like i said, if i was going to buy-meaning i can't get a $100k car

Fine I'll bite. I love to see a bunch of guys on a forum talk about how great a car is, quoting magazine articles, talking trash but have never actually DRIVEN said car in question.

The WRX does feel and look like an over priced tin can. Just drove a top of the line one sunday fully expecting to buy it. over-priced tin-can. Too bad really, performance was great...everything else says $15K car.

Well actually a lot of people here HAVE driven a WRX. How does an LS1 feel anything but a $15k car except for the performance as well? It doesn't - performance doesn't come free.

Ronin, the Corvette is a track car, meaning ROAD COURSE. It would kill the WRX in the twisties, and then kill it again in a strait line. Whats AWD good for? Launches and handling in the snow. Otherwise, its a crutch for crappy drivers to rely on when piloting their car. A good driver in a Corvette will also completely annihilate most other cars in auto-cross also.

The Corvette is a superior car in every aspect when comparing it to the WRX except in one place - It does not have the utility that a WRX has (and thats by a small margin).

1. i disagree.
2. are you still comparing a wrx to a corvette?...does this mean that the corvette has the feel of a $16,000 car?

Egh...Corvette. Yep. I was talking about rally though. I've never seen a Corvette on a true rally course but since no one uses it...

Either way...I hate the way American cars look. Just doesn't appeal to me. The WRX isn't the best looking either...that's why I said I'd pick a EVO or a RSX over it.

Either way...looks like the trolls gone back to his crib for tonight. Cease fire, guys.

Ha ha, tattle tale! Did you guys know that the Subaru Imprezza was originally front wheel drive that was intended to compete with other economy cars like the civic and escort? Adding a turbo and AWD will make it a little more fun but that still doesn't make up for it's purpose as an economy car.

1. I disagree with you too noob

2. Yes, I am comparing the WRX to a Corvette because this was left open ended.

I am NOT inferring that the Corvette is a $16,000 class car. If you've ever even ridden in a C5 Vette, you would know to shut the hell up because it out classes the WRX in every possible way.

Who TF cares? An F16 was based upon the wing design used in a WW I triplane. That little tid-bid is just as meaningless as yours.

Even porsches have cheesy interiors. A LS1 Fbody doesn't feel like a ford escort or civic, it's completely smooth at 130+ mph.

Corvette is a grand tourer- like a cheaper ferrari 550. Its too wide and cumbersome to be a real track car (ie formula ford). Wrx is neither..its a rally car designed for all weather conditions and a balanced performance character.

I can ride my bicycle faster than an camaro SS can drive in the snow. But on dry roads its a decent car provided you have the ability to drive it quickly. Basically its like a viper, great power in the hands of a pro...but in the hands of an amateur it'll be spinning out all day long.

There are other types of racing other than rally and drag. Ever hear of road racing? Auto Cross, etc? Drag racing is what sells cars, everyone wants 0-60 and a low 1/4 mile time. I want a JDM RSX Type R Vtec with yellow Cobra racing seats and 8 turbos. Get real.
