Actually c627627, you do err in your understanding of history. It is a tenent of paganism to syncretist in philosophy. In other words, ancient pagans such as the Romans, Persians, Greeks, Egyptians, etc. (most of the ancient world) respected and appreciated other people's religions and did not say "My religion is the only one". It was a novel and unusual aspect of Judiasm that taught that there was only one God (perhaps that is where anti-Semitism started). Anyway, Christianity and Islam are part of the same religious "tree" and have similar monothesistic philosophies as Judiasm.

So don't think you are cool or unique in your tolerant and accepting credo. It is as old as paganism, witchcraft, and the solstice tree. Wrong, mind you, but very old.

You can keep you ideas of relative truth and eastern philosophies focused to other threads. This is a thread about charity for those less fortunate. What you will find in the bible, and not in your belief system is - The greatest of virtues is love (charity).

Stick to the thread at hand.

And, BTW, I would also like to know the percentage going to the kids. Nothing wrong with questioning these things.

Exactly. What would mods do if they didn't like a thread? Ignore it? They are just like us, but they simply have the authority to do something about it. What Trevelyan did was come to the defense of something needlessly attacked. It happens every day.

What would you do if some guy was mugging you but the people around you on the street just walked past going "eh... I don't need to get invoved"
