Why are people going "well duh" when Subway is literally claiming their chicken is 100% chicken with seasoning?

I don't get this. You literally tell them what to put on it and watch them prepare it, so either you're telling them to put something you find disgusting on it or you're one of these modern "I only eat tomatoes right off the vine in my own garden, so every other tomato is literal shit in my mouth" hyperbolic wankers. Also baffling is that you say its the worst fast food you've had in your life and yet you ate there several times? It's not like they're using drastically different ingredients for different sandwiches, so getting something different isn't going to change things much. Also that means you've likely eaten at most other fast food places more times than that (but then we live in a bizarre world so I could see someone not liking a place but eating there more often than they eat at places they do like...), and somehow never had as bad of an experience? Did you happen to go to the subway in your city and just go "yeah I'd like a foot long" and then someone said "you want mayo?" and then whipped out their dick?

Obviously you've never been to an actual deli. Sad.

Subway is gross. The toppings have no real flavor and the meat is flavorless and small. It all looks so nice but it really sucks. Go to a real deli and get a sandwich, and after that, try Subway. At least the fast food burger places have some redeeming qualities.

here's a Moto Mod idea for you: DNA scanner or whatever it is to authenticate food n stuff.
perfect for identifying real vs fake chicken. scan that piece of sushi to confirm that it is tuna n not some imitation.

Only some towns in the NYC metro area have a true Italian Deli. But most will have some sort of bagel shop/deli place. Not sure about anywhere else but a lot of our pizza places have a deli meat slicer and make decent sandwiches. And yes, there are Subway restaurants all over the place as well.

99% of the strip mall places around here (LI) include the following:

DELI
NAILS
CHINESE
BAGELS
PIZZA
DRY CLEANERS
LIQUOR

Exactly as written, no unique names. Some good, some atrocious. That being said, all the deli's will be better than Subway.

Subway's alright for what it is. It's about my last choice for fast food, but it beats starving.

No, not all deli's will magically be better than subway. I always find it funny that people automatically think that small food joints/restaurants are automatically better than chains. Well they are not. That's a big reason why so many restaurants go under. You can find them of course as we all do but not all non-chain food places are automatically better than chains.

Not to mention paying $15 for a turkey sandwich @ Pastrami Queen is kinda ridiculous.

While it may be possible there are delis with worse sandwiches than Subway, they're probably in the most dilapidated parts of Eastern Europe or something. You'll probably have to work to find one, is what I'm saying. It is the most disappointing fast food experience on a quality/price level.
I dunno, maybe it's okay if you're one of those people that gets a bunch of stuff on your sandwich, I just get meat and cheese, which means the sandwich ends up being 97% lackluster bread for six dollars and change.

I hate the fact that corporations are allowed to do all this weird sketchy stuff with our food, but God forbid if a mom and pop shop stores their milk in the same fridge as the meat. There needs to be more regulations for corporations and less for the people.

But fast food is so tasty and convenient! I had Subway today. It taste good, but I hate knowing that I'm putting so much crap in my system that should not be in food. I wonder if they still use that petroleum bonding agent in their bread.

The thing with subway is that it's not that complicated to make a sub, but as an individual it just makes no sense to buy all the ingredients to make one. They'll go bad before you can consume them all. And you'll be eating subs for the next week and get super sick of it.

At the least you're odds of getting a better sandwich than Subway at a deli are very very high. Sure there some bad delis out there, but I've never had a worse sandwich ever. Even when the sandwich I got was mediocre by deli standards.

It's highly probable that getting a sandwich at another chain store is better than Subway also.

The only sub made in a "sub shop" I consider as bad as subway was blimpie. It was bad in a different way than subway, but equally bad. Otherwise, the only ones I've had worse, are from the cold case in a gas station. WaWa makes a pretty good sub around here for something as speedy as subway.

I have a Blimpie down the street from me, and it's not bad at all. Freshly sliced meats and cheeses, and more of both than at Subway. The veggie selection isn't as large, but I've never missed anything. Probably varies more by franchise than at Subway, where everything is pre-portioned.

Picky eater like you shouldn't really judge any food. I'm not saying Subway is great but when you just get meat and cheese on a bun, you're missing about 60% volume and taste on a Subway sandwich. It's like the same people who go to Five Guys and order a burger with only meat and cheese and no other toppings and complain the burger is small and bland. No shit. When you order a sandwich or burger, you should order it all the way. it should be judged fully dressed. Not missing most of the ingredients. Picky eaters get the right to eat but they along with vegetarians have no taste buds so they shouldn't be allowed to comment on any food other than something like cereal.

Subway is mostly a McDonalds competitor. It's relatively fast and cheap ... and doesn't feel as greasy as McDonalds.
And in rural areas ... there's a ton of small towns that only have a gas station and a Subway.

Five Guys burgers are great with just meat and cheese (and not small, what kind of fat-arse calls them small?!?), I contend you're the one with poor taste buds, you've got to pile so much junk on your sandwiches you can't even taste the burger anymore. How can you even judge the burger under that mountain of stuff?
I get my sandwiches the same way at literally every other sandwich place and they blow Subway out of the water. No comparison.

What I really dislike about subway is the bread. It's bland, and kind of like a yoga mat :^D Good bread should be crisp on the outside and kind of chewy inside. Good bread can make a mediocre sub good, and bad bread can ruin an otherwise good sub.

No, Five Guys burgers should ordered all the way. That's the standard. And if you want, you can then add additional optional toppings like grilled jalapenos. When you order Five Guys burger with just meat and cheese, you're missing most of what makes Five Guys good. When you go to Jersey Mike's, you order the sub Mike's Way. Again, not just meat and cheese. Mike's Way is how Jersey Mike's sub is meant to be eaten.

It's like going to McDonald's and ordering Big Mac and asking them to not add pickles, shredded lettuce, no special sauce, and leave out the middle bun. You're changing the product and it's no longer Big Mac.

You're both right really. A jersey mike's sub is designed to be eaten mike's way, but an artisan sub will just use fresh bread / high quality cured meats / high quality cheese / high quality olive oil and call it a day, thus letting each individual ingredient shine.

Both have their time and place

This is all 100% wrong. If that's the way it was meant to be eaten, it would automatically come that way. It does not.
It's weird how you're telling me how I need to eat food, but I'm not telling you to eat it the way I like it. I guess maybe you're just a bigger asshole than I am.

In this case, you are correct, however. Because the Big Mac comes that way.

I get that and can appreciate good quality food and artisan sub. But Subway or any fast food is not artisan. You have to eat it like it's intended. Same way you eat artisan food like its intended and keep it simple.
