I'm very socially liberal, but I believe certain elements of society must be kept in order. Fiscally... Agreed. The politician in question is just a very carefree person who doesn't care about their policies. He's served in a few states and is known for being a reckless jackass.Sadly EVERYTHING has a price-tag attached (a separate issue) and that sometimes seems to get forgotten. That's not the ONLY consideration either though.... it's important to look out for WORKING folks too not just those who need assistance.
Also I would be fully supportive of no longer sending federal money to states that trash reproductive rights and don't protect ALL voters.

I can't comment on this but in a lot of tragic mass shootings that aren't down to terrorist-like behavior it's usually mental illness. This country kowtows to ignoring mental illness or playing it down or ignoring it and looking forward or whatever bullshit is said. There's not enough money going into mental health resources. We also seem to ignore that young people can suffer from mental health issues. This country did a massive disservice by ignoring the realities of a post Vietnam world and treating returning soldiers terribly and not helping them with their mental health problems. A combination of that and the scorn the public had for a war that really didn't need us being there.
Not sure how it's done in other countries, but I'm sure it's better than here.
