I'm going to need a 25 ft subwoofer cable and this is the first time I'm running this long. Is it still ok to go through either Monoprice or Blue Jean for this cable? Just wanted to make sure the signal remains uneffected.

Sure,,, Why not????
I prefer a digital connection: Either RCA coaxial, or Toslink [optical]

The basics

Both coaxial and optical digital audio from one device to another. Both are better than analog (the red and white cables). Both can pass multi-channel audio, like Dolby Digital. Both cables can be had pretty cheap.
The biggest difference is that HDMI can pass higher-resolution audio, including the formats found on Blu-ray: Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio. These formats can't get transmitted across optical.
In terms of simplicity, HDMI also passes video signals. So if you want just a single cable between two devices, HDMI is your pick.

Many sub amps don't have digital connectors.

I wouldn't get the cheapest one, but anything midrange-y at Monoprice should be fine. It's probably reasonable not to run it next to any high current lines (e.g. the sub power cord) for an extended length, but I haven't run into any audible buzz with the roughly 20 foot RCA run I have between my AVR and rear sub, and it's nothing fancy.

im not sure ive ever seen a sub with a toslink - all either the standard RCA, XLR or Speakons,

any decent cable will work. mono or BJ shouldn't matter

I have that monoprice one that is linked. only issue with is the ends fit EXTREAMLY tight on the terminals, like if you remove it you may pull the end out of the sub tight

Coax is digital, and I use Toslink for 7.2 HD Digital myself from the computer to the AVR, irregardless of whether you think it works or not for it I guess.

Haven't seen a sub woofer that uses Toslink myself, I imagine are some out there, somewhere. I've never seen one myself.

*edit* Yeah, someone had all ready posted that cable.

I use mediabridge ultra cables and they've been great. Other than that bjc lc1 looks good too.

Do you have any digital capabilities on either your amp or on your sub????
"Or", are you going to connect your sub using a line level [2 wire] connection

The more you post in this thread the more confident I get that you're confused about what a "digital" or "line-level" connection actually is. Seems like you are mistakenly using a coax digital cable to pass analog line audio instead of an RCA cable. They have the same connectors. Those "two wire" connectors are for speaker-level inputs.

OP, buy one of the nice RCA cables from monoprice and call it day.

I have multiple subwoofer outputs [2] on my AVR .
Subwoofer signals come from 2 separate preamps built into the AVR.
The signal output from those preamps is a digital signal, going to, two RCA LFE jacks at the back of the AVR
My 2 self powered subwoofers each have a digital RCA input.
I use RCA coaxial cables to make the connection.

I hope this clears up your confusion.

Your sub RCA jack is a digital input.
Your off and running with the best way for your installation.
Connect it to the LFE port.

BTW I like that SUB.

Thanks! I'm very happy with it. I've noticed it's pretty popular among the forums. I'm going to be getting the Bowers & Wilkins 683 S2's, and B&W HTM61 S2 center to go along with it. Should be a nice combo

you are the one confused on what connections are what:

Digital signals are not amplified. Its digital.... line level is after the preamp and before the amp, digital is before the preamp and DtoA. If the connection is labeled "LFE" (low frequency effects) it is line level analog signal from 3 to 120 hz. If it is labeled s/pdif it is digital, either rca or toslink, and full spectrum.

You are using the line level analog output of the preamps on your receiver.

op: use the LFE port, it's an analog signal and 25 feet will probably not be a problem. if it is, you can use the speaker level output/input for the larger distance. I use the line level left and right channels of my receiver set up as a 2.1 system to utilize the adjustable cross over on my powered sub instead of the crossover in the receiver. My equipment is coming up on ancient though so ymmv.

Yep, nothing digital going on there with the SVS. BUT, it's a sub. Tiny bits of infidelity really aren't an issue. OP, a cheap RCA will be just fine.

There is no such thing as a "digital only" coaxial cable. You can use that 75ohm RG-6 cable to pass a digital or analog signal. I use that cable to go to all my amps whether the amp is a powering my subs or my speakers. I just like it because it's beefier than the "RCA" labeled ones monoprice carries.

And yes the LFE and preamp outputs on an AVR are all analog so nac4ev is confused.
