I envy your room...you have so much stuff in there! Subwoofer under the desk is usually the best option. With Klipschs, they'll be booming and if you put it on your desk, everything's gonna start shaking around.

IMO, you need to sell 1 or 2 of your computers and get a nicer TV.

place the subwoofer in your chair where you usally sit.
walk around the room until you find the best sounding spot.
put your subwoofer there.

The human ear cannot detect the location of low pitched (e.g. sub woofer type) noises. As long as it is not blocked in front in doesnt matter where you put it.

Don't take this personally but you're never going to find 'the sweet spot' because there is too much crap in your room. In the main area of your room you have to much solid (metal/wood) crap that is just going to reverb/scatter sound waves so it doesn't matter where it is. And on your bed side of your room there is too much soft (bed/carpet) stuff that will absorb sound.

"The human ear cannot detect the location of low pitched (e.g. sub woofer type) noises. "

Perhaps you could suggest that it's harder to detect location of low pitched sounds but I wouldn't say that it can't/isn't done.

True, deep bass is unidirectional, but placement does effect percieved subwoofer performance. If you place it in a corner, you can get up to a +3dB increase in volume, but at the same time it probably wont sound as good.
The method i described earlier is a sure fire trick.

Buy a KVM dude, clean your room, maybe then your subwoofer will sound good regardless where you put it.

Looking at your room, be careful where you put it, you may never find it again. :Q

The idea of placing the sub in your chair and walking around the room till you find where it sounds best, that's a great idea.

Lots of nice stuff layin around there man, I don't know how you can tolerate the mess though, I couldn't stand it. I guess I'm a bit of a neat freak.

With the sub under your desk you wont get as good as if it were way out in the open, but it still sounds good as long as the front is not blocked.
