:disgust:
Yeah yeah OT whatever, go ahead and lock it, blah blah blah... but I felt the need to share my 2cents worth here. This is the biggest and the best, and the no coupon policy is fine, whatever floats Anand's boat, the idea of litigation is a little scary to anyone, so I'll just assume Anand is playing it safe, fine with me, it's his site. But the Fat Wallet Xmas thing with the $600 dollar present bought for the mod got my attention. Shouldn't the mods here (or in any forum) be more of a friend than a foe? When people here post they seem to worry a lot, saying things like, "I hope this isn't locked" or "I hope this doesn't give me a suspension." The constant posts by "mod-wannabes" constantly state their guesses on how long the thread stays up before being locked. Why do mods have to be feared and despised by users instead of being respected and loved? The threads where people nearly beg the mods not to lock a forum show the way things have become. The overzealousness of mods to lock a thread in this forum is unnecessary and unfair. I agree with many of the locks mods put on threads, but there are a LOT that were unfairly locked, such as vendor complaints or product reliability concerns, or even the simple joke now and then. I don't know about the mods, but I consider being informed that a product/vendor that was advertised in this forum is shoddy a hot deal. This also ties in with the lawsuit issue, if the mods knowingly lock a thread that contains information about an unscrupulous vendor, couldn't that bring on some form of lawsuit? I would believe so, with the way our legal system is today. All I'm saying is the mods should lighten up a bit.
