Sufficient ab work?

How good is heavy squats for abs? My wife keeps telling me my stomach looks great and she asks how I got it like that. I honestly don't know. I run, heavy squats, deadlifts bi-weekly, bench, pull ups, basketball. That's basically my routine. I wasn't sure I was getting a sufficient ab workout. Does that sound like enough? I read the other guys thread on ab routines and it got me to thinking and I didn't want to threadjack.

IMO, diet has way more to do with it than exercise when it comes to abs. Also, basketball usually involves lots of running and jumping, so you are probably working your abs more than you realize.

heavy squats are very good for abs. I've concentrated on the major lifts the past ~5 months and have done maybe 10% of the directed ab work I used to.. and they look the same, if not better. I agree that diet does have a lot to do with it visually, but functionally speaking the major compound exercises certainly engage them.
