SeaSonic SS-300ET, that is. 80Plus Bronze, reasonably quiet, more than enough power.
Have to read the caption on the chart that states Power consumption -"Full System"The cpu 150watt underfull load (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Intel/Core_i5_2500K_GPU/9.html)
Is 300watts enough; The disks use abuot 70watts? The cpu 150watt underfull load (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Intel/Core_i5_2500K_GPU/9.html) 3 fans - so the total is what 230watts (max) ?
300W = overkill
When would you even be running everything under full load?
It doesn't matter. Even if he had the most power-hungry drives available and constantly doing heavy seeks, he'd only use 10W for each.Are all 8 drives likely to be running simultaneously on average, or are the idle ones being allowed to spin down?
