I'm looking for suggestions for about a 1 week roadtrip.

For example, last year I did the following trip and had a great time:
- Flew into Seattle and rented a car
- Drove to Tacoma,WA and hung out for half a day
- Drove to Port Angeles and took a ferry to Victoria, British Columbia. Spent two days there doing touristy stuff.
- Spent a day driving up the coast of Vancouver Island to Port Renfrew and then across the island to Nanaimo.
- Took a ferry to Vancouver. Spent a day in Vancouver doing touristy stuff.
- Drove up to Whistler and spent a few days there, mostly hiking.
- Drove back down to Seattle and flew home.

Where should I go next? I want to keep it to US and Canada. I don't necessarily have to start and end in the same place.

What are you the kind or things you like to do or would like to do? North America is very diverse. Nature, landmarks, cities, food, activities?

Coastal highway (Lake Superior) from Thunder Bay to Sioux Ste Marie in Ontario. It's an 8-10 hour drive lots of twisty sections and amazing views. I started the drive in Thunder Bay at sun-up and I think I like that direction better. Don't do it at night you won't enjoy it.

One of my best trips so far was a road trip from Denver to Omaha (I even liked it better than my Oahu trip :awe: ).

I suggest going to see:

- Devils Tower in Wyoming
- Southwestern part of South Dakota:
Mount Rushmore (go during the day and also at night when it's lit up)
Crazy Horse Memorial
Jewel Cave National Monument
Sylvan Lake at @Custer State Park
Driving Wildlife Loop Road at @ Custer State Park (18 miles)
Driving Iron Mountain Road (17 miles)
Driving Needles Highway (14 miles)
Minuteman Missile Launch Control Facility Delta-01 near Wall
Badlands National Park

:thumbsup::thumbsup: Food:
Black Hills Burger & Bun Co. in Custer (South Dakota)
Everest Cuisine in Rapid City (South Dakota)

Also, I don't care if cheesecake is pie. Just as long as it tastes gooood, who cares?!

Oooh, this could be a good option.

I've been meaning to go to Banff.

One of my favorite areas of the country. I make that trip up from Fort Collins every few years. I particularly love the Custer/Needles area. From Sylvan lake, take an nice hike to the top of Harney Peak.

I'm from West Texas, so I've spent a lot of time in New Mexico.

One my ideas was driving from Austin to Sedona. I've done that drive, but didn't have time to enjoy anything as I was driving to LA as fast as possible.

This is appealing. I've never seen much of that part of the country. I've popped up to Denver twice, but never been to that middle part of the country.

Is it worth driving from Austin to Florida? I've been as far as south as North Carolina and as far West as New Orleans, but never been down to that part of the country (with the exception of Orlando). Wouldn't mind seeing the everglades at some point.

Right on. It depends where you are going though, Ontario is rather large. It's a 7-8 hour drive from Toronto to get to the start of this route.

If you are route-planning, Thunder Bay is 5 hours NE from Minneapolis, and Sioux Ste Marie is 8 hours from Toronto, but also has access to Eastern Wisconsin and Michigan (I-75).

Starting in Thunder Bay, you can make Toronto in a day, but don't plan to do it in the other direction, as you will miss all the good stuff in the dark.

Ah, I didn't realize the scale. Maybe those are separate trips then.
