Hi all I wanted to build a gaming PC. This is going to be my first time.

1. It would be used for gaming (Doom 3, Quake 3, AOE, AOM and other RPGs and First Person Shooter games).

2. My Budget is RS. 30,000 max can't go any upper than that.

3. India

4. www.flipkart.com

5. A little gigabyte motherboard fanboy but other options are open as well.

6. Monitor

7. Maybe overclock the CPU and the GPU (only if I learn how to do that).

8. Don't know the exact resolution but somewhat about 1152x768.

9. when do you plan to build it - either before 15 feb or after 12 march.

x. I don't think so, I have the OS, antivirus, Uniblue Driver Scanner.

I have chosen the following parts.

CPU - Intel Pentium G645

T.V. Tuner Card - AverMedia
How are you going to use that for gaming?

(What I'm saying is, you didn't mention that you'd be using a TV tuner card. What other uses didn't you mention for this computer? Will you be reencoding TV shows? Is this even for TV tuning - did India switch to digital TV yet? Any other uses you forgot to mention?)

That CPU looks like the best bang for the buck. You might get a cheaper mobo. (Note that you can only practically use two of the four RAM slots.)

You might then be able to afford a 7770 video card.

You never need an aftermarket cooler with anything less than an i5, and rarely with an i5 that's not a K processor.

You won't be OC'ing that B75 board...

Your final build is very similar to my HTPC build (CPU/mobo/HDD/PSU.) It all works, but it's not what I would call a power system, and I don't really know how it would fare with gaming.

The stock Intel CPU cooler will be adequate, to save a little money.

OP, there isn't a limit on one build per person or anything like that, but it really helps if you just update your old thread if you are asking for help on the same project. The reason for that is so that people can read all the context instead of having the same basic questions asked and answered every time.

I suppose his budget has increased by 50%, so there is a reason to update the old thread or make a new one. He also became a Gigabyte mobo fan somehow, despite (probably) not building a computer yet. I wonder what changed?

Pentium G630 Rs. 3492
Gigabyte H61M-D2H Rs. 3363
Corsair 4GB RAM (x2) Rs. 1399*2=2798
Gigabyte 7750 Rs. 6950
Toshiba 500GB HDD Rs. 3279
LiteOn DVD Burner Rs. 1008
Bitfenix Merc Alpha Case Rs. 3292
Corsair CX 430W PSU Rs. 2822
Total: Rs. 29,636

Your build was almost certainly over, since every one of your parts cost more than mine and you had extra parts (TV tuner and cooler for some reason, which doesn't really make sense.) I chose B75 over H61 because I'm unsure if H61 mobos all support Ivy Bridge right out of the box.

Thanks every one and sleepforest according to your list I have changed the GPU, Case, removed the T.V. Tuner card and case fans. Decided to use the same mobo as it was better and the difference between prices wasn't a lot.
so the new list is here -

Pentium G645 - Rs. 3456
LG internal DVD writer - Rs. 1035
Seagate Barracuda 1 TB Desktop Internal Hard Drive - Rs. 4225
Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H Motherboard - Rs. 4189
Kingston HyperX DDR3 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) 1600 mhz - Rs.3653
Corsair CMPSU-430CXV2UK 430 Watts PSU - Rs. 2822
Gigabyte AMD/ATI GV-R775OC-2GI 2 GB DDR3 Graphics Card - Rs.6950
BitFenix Merc Alpha - Rs.3292
Total - Rs.29622

@SleepForest - Your total was Rs. 27004
and I have a question
This GPU is DDR3 the previous one was GDDR5 does it make a big difference?

I think it's mislabelled. All current generation graphics cards use GDDR5.

Not true, super cheap ones use DDR3. The fact that the 7750 you linked has 2GB of RAM but costs less than the 1GB PowerColor that the OP linked is a dead giveaway that the listed RAM type is correct. I would avoid a DDR3 GPU at all costs (ok ok, most costs) because they are severely bottlenecked by memory bandwidth.

OP, I would pay the extra Rs. 300 for this Sapphire 7750 with GDDR5.

I guess you learn something new every day. Seriously, DDR3 memory? What a ripoff on a GPU!

lol, and you've been using PCpartpicker to help list out parts for how long? Their detailed pages on video cards list what type of memory is in the card and some have DDR3 listed.

I've been using PCPartPicker for... four months? That's about right (actually, it looks like we joined at roughly the same time!). I rarely look at the detailed pages for video cards since what I care most about is core clock and model (possibly stock vs custom cooler, but for that, I generally go to Newegg or something to look at pictures. PCPartPicker is often flaky on that issue).

Anyway, it looks like I need to pay attention more to details.
