I have a professional internship starting in two weeks, and while I have a business wardrobe the dress shoes I have are uncomfortable to be wearing for long periods of time.

Basically my schedule in the fall will be

8am-1pm Classes
1pm-5/6pm Internship
5/6pm-10/11pm Work

Yeah Im in for some long days in the fall. I need a pair of comfortable dress shoes.

Any suggestions?

Max I can spend is $200.

i heard bostonian's are good. i scored a couple of really cheap sketchers myself though. they look decent but not really that classy.

you should bring sneakers to change out for class/work.

Thats just more stuff to carry around... I'll be living 2 blocks from campus(where my classes and job are at), and only a block from the place I am interning out.

So Ill be walking since commuter parking here is crap and Id have to actually walk further.

Ill already be carrying stuff for class + laptop. I dont really want to have to carry around an extra pair of shoes. I know they make comfortable dress shoes, I just dont know which brand/pair.

Ill probably end up going to a shoe store anyways, but Im looking for suggestions.

I third the eccos. Back in the day when I had to dress up for work, after several bad pairs of shoes, I went to the podiatrist for some custom orthotics. He said try some Eccos and if I still had problems, come back in a month. Never saw him again.

I have a pair of Rockport and a pair of Kenneth Cole Reaction. Both are slip-ons and very comfortable. I had a class during the day three times a week this past semester and walked to and from work when the weather was nice. It's about a 1-1/2-mile round trip, and my shoes were always very comfortable.

Rockport Margins are THE bang-for-buck ultra-comfortable business shoe that no one will ever know the difference.

Eccos without a doubt. I have 6 pairs of them. More comfortable than my Nike Air Max 360s (at times)!!! Amazing shoes and I will pretty much never wear anything else to work. Only problem is the cost.

I love my Rockports. Great comfort and they look pretty nice too. I can't speak to durability as (fortunately) I don't have to dress up very often.

I pretty much only wear black leather dress shoes...
I have had a pair of Kenneth Cole Reaction shoes for over a year now and I love them.

The leather is more supple or soft than most other shoes, yet it still looks good and doesn't scuff easily.

I have a Gel insole in them, so that probably helps a lot as well.
