We're down to the last stretch ... I searched around and there were tips on how to reduce on the rates, such buglar alarm, type of deadbolts, etc.

But I wanted some suggestions on where to get quotes from and also where do I find out how much I should insure my home for? I read that it's typically the amount it cost to rebuild the house from the ground up.

any suggestions/info?

I'd start with your auto insurance company.

Edit-I have my home/auto/life insurance all with USAA Insurance.

Yep. I had to cold call 8 insurance agencies and get quotes, took about 1.5 hours but I saved a bundle.

There are people that are insurance brokers for many companies. Someone at work used one. He ran reports with tons of companies and broke down all the possible scenerios. If you do this, have them look at your auto and home insurance since having both with the same company will save you money. He ended up with a crazy plan but it was the best for him. It was good to see how taking off this kid or that kid and comparing everything from every angle.

My fiancée as State Farm so they?re rate is pretty good, I have Geico, but I?m a little weary about getting insurance from them. It?s a bummer, State Farm ranks as #2 in ?Hall of Shame?. I?ll give Amica a try.

We?re from CA so probably can?t do Mutual Assurance Society.

Just noticed that many of the major big name compaines are on the Hall of Shame for bathfaithinsurance.com.

Thanks!

Whoever you go with I'd look into switching your auto insurance as well. Might save you some money. Definitely get your auto policies under the same company though.
