Who's going to see it? If anybody goes, tell me if it's worth watching by tonight and I'll go see it. You know it's lame when you let anandtech decide what you're going to do for the weekend, but what the heck.

I probably won't see it unless the reviews improve. Affleck for Ford is the worst trade since Brock for Broglio.

My coworkers that saw it at the crew screening said it was pretty good. I couldn't go.(someone had to hold down the fort ) Granted we did the effects, so there might be a little bias there.

Spanky- Star Wars rocked, Spiderman was good, not great, SOAF looks pretty sweet though.

I read a couple reviews that said Affleck was pretty good in it, surprisingly. Also, that for Clancy fans to like it, you have to not think of it as a Jack Ryan movie, cuz it'll mess things up for you.

Yeah. I wasn't a big fan of the Affleck trade either. But I have faith in Clancy, and I love the genre. I'll probably see it sometime... could somebody watch it and tell me? I've read reviews that argue for both sides, but I want to hear from real people.

This one is on my must-watch list. They are definitely taking things off-course from the actual series of novels, but the content is still entertaining.

I go years without seeing a movie in the theaters, then all of a sudden this summer a whole slew of them come out that are must-sees for the theater.

ScreenIt.com gives it a 6 out of 10, same score they gave the Matrix. While I'm not expecting SOAF to be as good, my experience has been that anything getting a 6 or higher from them is worth seeing. I'd suggest seeing it next weekend instead () but I think O Brother Where Art Thou is a better bet. For my part, I'll be seeing it this weekend...I just hope they haven't screwed with the plot too much. The book was cool.

Bah, I can knock one of his books off in 3-4 weeks. I'd tend to agree with you though, if I see a movie before I read the book I can picture the book better in my mind. Like with the Jurassic Park/Lost World books.

I dont remember much from the book. But I read it, along with a few other books he has made.

This Clancy guy is pretty good at writting spy vs spy kind of stuff. I tend to find the movies bad because they take out the suspense and depth the book has.

Rest assured this was one of those plot, that made you think about how safe you really are before 9/11.

Also if you like this plot, pick up the book "Debt of Honor." The story acutally talked about using 747 as weapon of terror. When 9/11 happend I just wondered did osama got the idea from Clancy.

After reading debt of honor try the book rainbow six, yes there is a book behind that pc game. Its about counterteroism and animal lover bend on destryoing the world for the sake of animals.

His last book "Bear and the Dragon" is about how China wants to steal from Russia to solve an economic crises that errupted from human rights issue.

Yes it sounds crazy and stuff but its actally pretty intresting reading.

Who knew WWI would have been started over an assination.
Who knew that Iraqi was going to get its butt kicked because we wanted oil.

I have recommand many books from tom clancy to friends. My gf is actually reading the Bear and the Dragon right now. I am so proud of her = ).

I'm going to watch it, but I'm going to do my best to forget everything I read in the books and everything I've seen in the previous Tom Clancy movies. It should be enjoyable then.
