I have been eye'ing the Suzuki GSXR750, I had an 1100 about 8 years ago, loved it. But really I think my next bike is going to be a Harley FLSTF Fatboy.

Harley Sportster or Buell. I like the Harley only because they are the only bike which do not depreciate. You can buy a Harley today for $15,000 and then ride it all year and then sell if for the same or more than you paid for it. No other bike has this type of value. Purchase a Honda ST1100 for $11,500, next year it will be worth $2000 less.

Repainting my faithful '88 FXR. Over 70K miles of abuse and only needed a ring job. warcleric, get the FatBoy and ride the sh1t out of it. You won't be sorry. I like all kinds of scooters, but Harleys really are a lifetime machine

My first bike was a ZX-9 (nothing like starting at the high end!)

Only had it for about 6 months though, I was a different person on that bike. I've had it up to 163MPH, I've pull it down low enough in a hard turn to drag the footpeg, I won't even go into what I used to do with friends in traffic!...Mind you again, this was my FIRST bike.

I HAD TO sell that bike, the way I was on it I'd be dead within a year.

Ohhhh man did I LOVVVVE that thing while I had it though! It was a BEEEEAUTIFUL deep purplish black, man it hurts to even talk about it.

I was thinking about getting a bike, but my brother urged me no to. He's a doctor and said when he went through med school he saw way too many bike accidents and mangled people. Kinda scary, and most of them were not the motorcyclists fault, it was normally the other morons on the road.

Already have a 2000 Buell Cyclone M2. I'm debating on if I should by a new billet dash and tach kit for it with my tax return. Choices, choices.....

Anyone who is getting a First bike should really consider something a little more docile than the SuperSports your talking about. I was all hopped up for get a Ninja7R but man, too much power just right there. I've decided on getting a more streetable bike - the Yamaha YZF600R (NOT THE R6). Not pure sport, not a puss either.

First time riders beware. An F4i may look cool.. research the damn Insurance before buying, get some quotes.
Also I highly suggest not getting a pocket rocket or a crotch rocket as a first bike. Your going to kill yourself trying to hold on to the bike. A bike that can do 0-60 in < 7 seconds is too fast for a beginner. I have seen some nasty falls, infact saw 1 a few days back.

Personally I am getting the Ninja 500 or the Suzuki GS500E.
However I am waiting until mid april when the prices drop a bit (since the semester is half way thru and I shuold have got it in jan not now.. the main reason is for school). If you are considering riding I highly suggest the MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) course on how to ride a motorcycle.

Also might consider this bike:

This one !!!

ok I am not serious of that one but its a cool bike.

well, I've never riden a bike in my life, but was thinking that a supersport can't be THAT hard... I mean, it should be like any other bike, only I don't squeeze the accelerator as hard. right??? {please correct me if I'm wrong, cuz I'm clueless}

anyway, I wanna get something like an F4i because I just learn stuff like this really fast and don't wanna get bored after a few months... just like a month after I started driving, I went straight into rallying cuz driving was BORING! Aside from that, I also learned stick shift after 2 games on that ferrari similator arcade. I'm like one of those "tell me what the buttons do and I'll figure the rest" type people.

anyway, funniest thing is i don't even know what the buttons and knobs do on the bike yet (never been on one in my life). But that's just a simple matter of reading the book. Anyway, would you recommend anything that's fit for me, but will also keep my excited for at least the next 12months?

I was even thinking about the 929, but then thought better. I suppose that would be like me stepping into an F1 the first time driving.

Ok, guys. For your first bike, try something used. And inexpensive, along with cheap to repair. Cuz you *are* going to drop it. The EX-500 or the GSE-500 are both very good bikes that'll motor along all day and won't bore you silly after 3 months. Plus, the insurance rates won't kill you. (I still even have my EX-500 but can't seem to find the time to get around to racing.) For those of you who haven't taken the MSF course yet, please do so.

And, yes, the new Honda '4 is a great bike. The world's best racers ride them. That should tell us all something, no?

How about the fastest and most expensive production bike in the world?

Munch-Mammut, last I checked it retailed for $88,000. It has a 1998cc engine, and weighs about 800 pounds. They only bring in about 100 of these per year from Germany.
