This seems to be too good to be true. I haven't seen any other car manufacturer offer this type of insane deal.

I fail to see how this is an insane deal, except for the fact that you'll have a year-old car before one payment is made on it. Assuming a normal loan for, say 5 years, you'll be upside down close to the whole loan life. Not paying a thing on the principal for a year may sound tempting, but the car is depreciating rapidly and you're not working down the owed amount.

This would be a good deal on a lease. If you can get the car for $300 a month and your only paying it for 2-years, its worth it. Buying however wouldnt be.

well its a much better deal than a normal car deal right?!

has to be better than the average 5y 6% that most cars have.

you could set the money aside that you were going to make payments with, and earn money on it for a year, then dump it all down after the first year, that would help your priciple

Too bad there are no good Mitsu cars out now (Lancer Evo coming soon though).

Saturn has a deal right now on their S-Series line of cars, which are very nice. No payments, No Interest for 5 Years...............not 1 year.............FIVE YEARS. Now this is a deal! Although I wouldn't recommend skipping the payments..........the best part of the deal is NO INTEREST for FIVE YEARS. Go Saturn!

I was going to suggest this also. Whatever your payments would have been, put that mush aside each month into a savings that earns good interest. After 1 year drop that amount on the principle, and you'll be in good shape.

Ever notice that the cars worth driving never have offers like this! (it always the Kia, Hyundia, Mitsubishi, Suzuki and Buicks with these deals)

Good financing deal, but you end with an unreliable car with no resale value that will send the babes running from you!!

I think this deal is for all cars BUT the Lancer (not kidding!!!). Anyway...it can be a great deal. Just because no payments are due doesn't mean you can't make them. Just pay the regular amount during your free time. With 0% financing, you'll save $3000-$6000 depending on the price of the car.

Hmmm you think the length of the finance term is limited?

Quite a few cars are going to 0% interest these days from anywhere from 36-60 months.

The no payment for a year is a really good way to get horribly upside down in a car.

mitsubishi=crap

my experience with my uncle's 4 cyl expo is horrible, the car sounds like it's falling apart on the freeway, it has about 100 thousand miles on it

Mitsubishi M. Sport here... decent SUV (V6 vs Nissan and Toyota V4)... I did the one year no payments 2 years ago. No catches... deal through Mitsubishi themselves. So far so good...

but... tire prices on a SUV are a killer!!!!

But guys, thge point isn't that you don't pay for a year. The point is that the interest is 0% forever. Supposedly.

I also heard of this through a commercial. I would assume you can't bargain them down as far off the sticker price if you take part in it, though.

Sensor, I disagree.

0% is from manufacturer, and has no bearing on what dealer pays for car or what profit dealer gets, unless there's some additional kickback that the dealer gets from "normal" Mitsubishi finance that he won't be getting on this deal, it should not affect anyone's ability to get a price close to invoice.

I've driven a lot of Mitsubishi's this year from Hertz with my travelling job - Galants, Lancers, and Diamantes. I would not touch a Galant or a Lancer. They are awful. No road feel, cheap feeling plastic junk. The Diamante I would not give away if someone gave me for a present. But I wouldn't buy one. Doesn't hold up to the competition, any of it.

The SUV I don't know about. I always heard great things about the Eclipse but I have not driven one.

My experience with a Mitsubishi was very good, owned a Japanese made Dodge Challenger in Canada for 18 years before it finally bit the dust. Very reliable.

You should have no problem at all getting o% and Invoice price - never, never, never pay sticker price, regardless of the financing terms!!! As someone else previously said, the 0% financing does NOT affect the dealer's cost of the vehicle, and all vehicles have a "holdback" from the manufacturer, so even when they sell you the car at invoice they are still making money.

The best deal I ever got on a new car was a brand new 2000 Mustang a couple years ago at $300 BELOW invoice PLUS 0.9% financing, and I didn't even have to fight that much with the dealership or the salesperson (and I didn't trade anything in, so no they didn't screw me on a trade to make up for the price of the car)

If anyone wants some really good info on how to haggle with dealers then check out Edmunds.com, they are the BOMB. After reading their articles I actually started having FUN buying cars....

For those bashing Mitsubishi's, remember this:

Cars are only as reliable as their owner. You could have a Honda or Toyota, and if you didn't do a thing to take care of it, guess what, it'd go to shyt real quick too.

actually, you really don't have to do much to some Hondas and they will last darn near forever. But Mitsubishis aren't as bad as some poeple are saying. My mom had an old Tredia back in the day and it was a great car.

But if you really want a deal, look into Mazda. Not the best resale value, but pretty good cars with a lot of room to negotiate. I got my 2000 Millenia S Millenium Edition for about 32% off of sticker price.
