So with summer upon us, I thought I would look to ATOT for some summer drink recipes. I realize there are alot of places to get drink recipes, but many of them call for some exotic type of liquor that you'd hardly ever use. I prefer the drinks that use somewhat common ingredients.
My ideas for a bbq on Friday are below. I'd like to bring a couple of different drinks for people to try out that they may have not tried before. Here's what I've got so far:
Jasper?s Rum Punch
1 1/2oz Your favorite clear white rum
1 1/2oz Jasper?s Secret Mix (3/4oz lime juice, 1/2oz 2:1 simple, 2 dashes Angostura bitters)
cherry, to top
nutmeg, grated on top
Jalapeno-Pear Caipiroska
2 oz. Absolut Pears vodka
1 oz. honey syrup
1 lime, quartered
2-3 jalapeno slices
ice
Muddle (mash together) the lime and jalapeno in the shaker. Add the remaining ingredients and shake well. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice and enjoy.
Gingered Rum Old Fashioned
2 oz Your favorite dark rum
0.25 oz Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur
2 dashes Angostura bitters
1 dash Angostura orange bitters
Drink I made up:
1 Pineapple juice
1.5 domaine de canton
.5 part triple sec
1 part vodka
Depending on the love of ginger, you can modify and add a bit more domaine, or less pineapple juice.
