It's Summer time.
And I have to ask if hair is in or out for men, legs that is, when wearing shorts?
Last Summer it seemed the shaved look was in.
This Summer, a lot of shorts and gorilla legs walking around.
Hey guys. We all want to be politically correct, right?
We don't want the women giving our hairy legs that EEK, GROSS look, now do we?
I personally do not like shaving my legs. But I do have more than your typical hairy legs.
And every once in a while I can't help it but catch women giving my legs that "look".
Problen is, I can never tell if it's a positive look or a negative look.
It just bothers me that I catch them looking.
I do have unusually muscly legs from all my mountain hiking and climbing days.
That look just stuck with me.
But the hairy legs part?
Back in high school I had the hairiest legs of all the guys in gym class.
I was kidded all the time by the spotters during gymnastics, "if he falls catch him by the hair of his legs". "Haha. FU..."

So, I had to ask. Again.
Summer time. Legs. Shaved or hairy?

I do not know any men who shave their legs on purpose....well..except the ones trying to be women.

When I was in elementary school, there were was a dad of a friend of a brother who played for the Chargers, and apparently he shaved his legs to reduce chafing or something.

Only girls or women shave their body parts ( Face is an accepted exception ). Or dudes that wish they were women.

A man that would shave his body or extremities for female /male attention has issues.

Note: the world is truly messed up these days: I read about how women are growing their armpit hair and now " men " asking if it is OK to shave their legs. My God where did we go so far off track?

Bicycle racers/wannabe's shave ... so do swimmers. (and swimmers may have a point that it reduces drag)

I on the other hand am one hairy MF'er and don't care what anyone thinks about it!

I shave my armpits, but my legs? No way. Too much work and no real benefit that I can see.

This post has to be a joke. Men have a right to walk around with gorilla legs and it has nothing to do with political correctness. Unless you are a bruce jenner wanna-be

If you are asking, just do it. You don't need our approval, you know you want to do it.

Shave your left leg and not your right. Keep track of the ladies' reaction coming from the right and the left. Report your results here.

By way of disclosure: I shaved my right arm and the right side of my chest and stomach earlier this year.

The things you saw walking around with shaved legs may have looked like men to your untrained eye but I can assure you they weren't.

Does that answer your question.

P.S The only men with shaved legs are professional swimmers and the like and even they get 9 points on their man cards, when they do it. 10 points and you have to hand it back in

JHC what is wrong with this generation of manscapers... If you aren't a competitive swimmer or cyclist then put the fucking razor down.

If men weren't meant to shave unusual places then Gillette wouldn't be selling a razor for just that purpose.

Yep. There are valid reasons to do some manscaping in strategic places for sure. Legs however I don't see the need to shave.

To the OP. Next time you catch a woman giving you that look, pull your junk out and ask her if that is what she is looking for. This will go one of two ways for you, both of them exciting.

Leg hairs aren't pubes that's what I was referring to but... Since we are on the topic.... They started selling razors to make money in a niche market, not because shaving your balls is normal or "meant to". Somehow men (and women) managed to keep their pubes intact for millennia and up until a 20 years ago someone shaving their pubes off, especially a guy, would have been pointed at and teased. I grew up in the 70/80's and if someone who had done that would have at the best.. been the teased relentlessly if they went bare and at worst probably been beaten up in the locker room. Guys jumped on the bandwagon that women started in the 90's when some porn stars stared the fad. When they stop, and they will one day, do you honestly think guys will continue to shave down there... Even having to shave your face sucks......

I shave during the cycling season for many reasons. To show that I am "a serious bike racer," to bond with my fellow cyclists, to make patching up road rash easier, and, most importantly, to reduce my drag coefficient. By the way, saving 15 watts in an insane amount. It is akin to moving from a non-aero bike frame to an aero bike frame, or from square-section wheels to deep-section wheels.

In comparison, shaving your arms in cycling did not yield any significantly significant drag reduction. Some (mostly continental and world tour level) cyclists still shave their arms.

"The tests showed that shaving the test subject’s legs reduced drag by about seven percent, saving 15 watts at the same speed. In theory, that translates to a 79-second advantage over a 40-kilometer time trial.

The Specialized employees in charge of the wind tunnel, Mark Cote and Chris Yu, were so surprised that they tested five more cyclists before they would let one of their professional triathletes publicly reveal the findings. The results were consistent: All of them saved between 50 and 82 seconds over 40 kilometers."

Yep and bodybuilders. But aside from those small groups, if you're a man shaving your legs then turn in your mancard asap.

The shaved look has never been in for men. Regardless, nobody actually cares, OP. If you wanna shave, go for it. No one's even going to notice unless you tell them.
