The shaved look has never been in for men. Regardless, nobody actually cares, OP. If you wanna shave, go for it. No one's even going to notice unless you tell them.
The shaved look (body, not legs) has come and gone but is mostly always just accepted without comment, except by the hairy folks and those who are turned on by the hairy folks.
It's been in since the Greeks and Romans. They prized the human form and rejected the animalistic body hair, as it really is just a leftover from evolution and serves zero purpose on humans, except for those hirsute-types, where it may do something but I still doubt it.
I don't touch my legs, but I'll trim elsewhere. Makes underarm sweating less of an issue (I sweat like a motherfucker, so less hair = better deodorant application = less sweat). I'm not a hairy type anywhere though, I have no back hair and little chest hair, so I figure to hell with it, might as well keep the chest trimmed. Can't grow a beard or mustache to save my life, so no point working on that either. And manscaping elsewhere is far better imho.
