No...they got the conference that money (where it's divied up 10 ways). And it's not that much more than what the conference would have gotten if it had sent someone to the Rose Bowl only.

No...they got the conference that money (where it's divied up 10 ways). And it's not that much more than what the conference would have gotten if it had sent someone to the Rose Bowl only.

It's actually less. Rose Bowl pays 17 million to Pac 10 and Big 10 teams.

At least since Texas is limited to a $4.5 million payout, the rest of the payout will be split amongst the remaining BCS conferences aside from the Big 10 and Big 12. Still, kinda sucks for the Pac 10. Grrrrrr.

Or what about the ACC? I think the ACC is better academically than the PAC-10. PAC-10 only has Stanford.

The top 4 are about equal, but then the ACC pulls away (adding Boston College helps as well).

Pac 10 has Stanford, Berkely, UCLA, and USC. ACC has Duke, Virginia, Wake Forest, and North Carolina. Pac 10 doesn't have anyone to answer Clemson, Maryland, BC, or Georgia Tech, though. (I used the 2004 US News &amp; World Report ratings).
