Current sunglasses are black/dark shades...i've read that amber/brown are better for driving. Just wondering if anyone else agrees or opinions.

Just checking.

sort of related - when i snowboard in overcast conditions i wear amber lenses to enhance the contrasts in the surface. when i snowboard in bright conditions i wear dark or reflective lenses to minimize the glare.

analogously, when driving i'd wear amber on cloudy days, dark on sunny days.

i liked amber lenses for riding my mc at night. i wear dark grey during the day tho, i dont like the color alteration amber lenses do. messes with me brains.

Yes. IMO, there's a very noticeable difference between polarized and non-polarized lenses. Polarized lenses almost eliminate directional glare and make a better lens all-around.

I do this also. Both my pairs are polarized. My snowboard goggles (vermillion) are also polarized. Do they make polarized clear prescription glasses? I'd probably get those, too, next time i go in for some. I don't think i'll ever buy non-polarized again

i am too lazy and poor to buy good polarized glasses, but i did have a pair before that someone gave me. best shades i ever had. they really make a difference, and it took a while to get used to seeing the reflection of my dashboard when driving without them. i know they arent that expensive now, but im really that lazy.

Definitely get polarized. And between amber and black, I'd go with amber, but this is YMMV because some sunglasses may look good on you and some may not.
