my glass mauis are falling out of favor to my polycarb mauis... sooooo much lighter and comfortable. i already wear contact lenses, which adds a layer of "artificiality/distortion" to my vision... so the pure quality differences between glass and polycarb does not matter that much to me

I think whatever fits best/feels most comfortable. Speaking only of the higher-end brands of course. I've had Maui Jim's for a couple years, I'm not crazy about em. Probably because they never fit me exactly right , someone gave them to me. The pair I have isn't adjustable.

I'd probably get some Oakleys if I had any money, those are nice and are tough to break.

Until the glass shatters into a million pieces which then penetrate your eyeball.

Go with a polarized lens. Yes they are more expensive but they are great for driving. much less eye-strain.

I like Bolle, they are light, comfortable and cheap as sunglasses are often lost or broken.

Polarized is not for everyone. For some they are problematic (ATMs and certain video screens do not show).

Yeah, I couln't wear my Jims when running cranes. The screens in the computers went totally black with polarized lenses.

I really miss my Jims...Air Conditioning for the Eyes...

Unfortunately, while they make prescription lenses for many of their frames, they DON'T do bifocals in ANY of their frames... and sadly, as I've gotten older, I NEED the fucking bifocals...:|

You can buy a $100+ one that will last you a long time, better on your eyes, and you'll take care of better
OR
You can buy the $10 drugstore that you will break, lose, etc, replace every year.

I lost my revo 3010 glasses with the blue mirror I can't seem to find these anywhere with the same color lens and frame that I had. I ended up ordering the same glasses in green polarized for 145 + shipping yesterday.

I have a pair of glass polarized Raybans and I love them. Since they're glass, they're scratch free and everything looks awesome in the sunlight with the polarized lenses. It's like the way you were supposed to see, GLARE free!!

I'm in the market for some new shades, and have been looking to replace my lost Revos.

Trying some on yesterday, I didn't find anything I liked, but noticed they're manufactured in China, and while I'm not typically a highly political guy, I'd prefer something made in the US.

Where are Maui Jim's manufactured?

Whatever happened to that one company, Gargoyles? They made the ones Arnie wore in the first Terminator movie, had a military contract for a while, then kind of disappeared after they started making the Legends line and other smaller, more mainstream looking sunglasses.
