Does that mean that starting in August of 2007, your renewal date, they will automatically renew you for 2 years at $199, with no charge until that time?

I've posted this problem before, but it prevails...

I get annoying calls from a number that caller ID identifies as only "1321". I'd like to block this number, but call blocking requires a 10 digit number. Someone said that they had success entering "000-000-1321" and so I entered that into my call-blocking list. I heard nothing for about a month, so I assumed that it had worked... but now I'm getting them again. I checked to make sure that 000-000-1321 was still in my blocked list, and it is.

A little help???

Just tried logging into the website and got a message that they are in the middle of a website upgrade. Damn, I need a job like that where you can just take down a customer facing website in the middle of the day for an upgrade...I would think they would do it in the middle of the night.

Honestly, it's probably been at least a year since I picked up my phone and was unable to make a call. That's certainly not to say there hasn't been an outage in a year but that's the last one that affected me. I don't know if it's just my perception but it seems like most of them happen during the day when I'm at work.

We have mini outages probably every other week that last for an hour or so. Wife will call me at work on her cel and say she can't make calls or can't receive calls or something. It's usually in the middle of the day and calling SR is useless becaue they just say they'll have an engineer call me and they never do.

But it's cheaper than Vonage so I don't really care. We both have cell phones in case we have a problem.

The only thing that pisses me off is that when someone calls and we're having an outage, they just get dead air and they don't get forwarded to voice mail.

How do I get in touch with SR to see about renewal options? I called the SR customer service number (from the site) and selected the option for renewals, got put on hold for ~10 minutes, and then got a message which said "Thank you for calling the Springfield Sunrocket Customer Support Center" or something along those lines. Then the message said "if you wish to speak with a CSR, call this number" and hung up. The number was only said once, and I *think* it was the same as the SR website number, but I'm not sure I want to sit on hold for another 10 minutes in the hopes of catching the number.

Thoughts?

I'm praying SR stuck with the local customer service option...way back when I first started with SR, their support improved by leaps and bounds as soon as they stopped outsourcing (I believe their original support was based in the Phillipines, though I could be wrong).

At this point, I'm undecided about renewing...service has been pretty good the last couple of months (didn't get hit with the outtage as far as I could tell) and I get the occasional missed call, but otherwise it seems to be ok. I guess the main thing for me will be the price they offer me for a renewal...$199 for two years I'd jump at, $199 for 13 months I'm not so sure about, since it looks like I'm going to be using a cell phone more and more for work.

Press the option for Sales. Most people say that gets you to the best people. Just tell them that when you selected Renewals you got hung up on.

Hmmm...sales didn't work, said they couldn't do the renewal and didn't know what offers were currently running, but they could walk me through doing the renewal for the current offer online. They transferred me to the renewals dept; great support quality for both departments, incidentally.

The renewals guy said he couldn't do $99 for a year or $199 for two, since both had expired a couple of months ago, but that there's a *big* SR promotion coming up on Saturday, applicable both to new customers and existing renewals. He said they've all been told that it's going to be huge, and they've been on TV and advertising everywhere else about SR, so he thinks it's definitely worth waiting for.

To anyone considering SR: Saturday's probably going to be a good day to sign up.
