I'm just reading this now, but I'll give it a shot in about 10 minutes...am I just extending my contract or doing one of those number moving dealies that I read about? Because if we have to change our number, that's not going to work.

George, on the 12 months plus phone accounts, did they want the phones back? I had 14 months + phones (yes, 14, it's a loooong story), they converted me to 2 years but said I have to send the phones back because you can only have one promotion.

Sending the phones back isn't going to kill me though because I have another set of 4 anyway. When I went looking for 2 more handsets, I found them for $25 each plus shipping. BJs had the set of 4 for $60 so I picked that up instead. I figured it wasn't worth trying to argue to keep the phones, the second year of service is worth more.

sure, it's worth well more. However, I honestly don't think they REALLY want those phones back. I would just leave it alone. Heck, I signed up for an extra signature number 6 months ago and have yet to be billed the extra $3 per month. If it ever comes up (Almost 100% sure it never will) tell them you used them and they got kind of scratched up. I don't see them asking for them, not enough value to worry about.

EvilYoda-

They'll convert your existing number to a 2 yr./$199 deal. No need to port #s. Worst case scenario has you get a new contract with a new email address and a couple of new numbers, then simply port your existing numbers over to that new accout. Works well, within 24 hours an in-network port is done.

Question about my situation. I can't get High Speed internet at my house, so I have a location that I use a commercial grade wireless equipment there and on my house to get cable internet to my house. Latency is non-existant. Regardless, here is what my situation looks like now:

Cable Modem > Linksys Router > Wireless Radio to Wireless Radio > Switch

From the switch I have 3 or 4 computers plugged into the switch.

Now my question, is since the Cable modem and wireless router are not in my actual physical living location, where in the world would the Gizmo that Sunrocket gives you go? I talked to a tech support today and they said that you can't plug the gizmo into the switch and expect it to work. I was thinking something like this:

Cable Modem > Linksys Router > Wireless Radio to Wireless Radio > Sunrocket Gizmo > Switch

All of this linking together uses cat5 RJ45 cabling, except obviously from wireless radio to wireless radio. But from the wireless radio to my switch, is an ethernet cat5 RJ45 cable, into a little POE adapter, and then into the switch.

The Linksys router is set to DHCP while the wireless radio's keep a static IP address.

Everything has been working great (for computers) but I have no idea if SunRocket gizmo will work with my very unique situation. Any help?

I've set someone up with a Linksys game adapter last week. Worked well. That probably means that you will have no problem with your setup, either.

The deal still works. Here is the direct link to it. Sunrocket WILL honor it.

http://www.sunrocket.com/sign_up/signup.do?tcd=web4pfs

Now, those who did not get in on it last night - EvilYoda, RideFree, Candlebox, etc.: Do it NOW. Just sign up for the darn thing. You WILL be able to port your existing numbers over without a problem and simply cancel the old account.

I told you exactly how to calculate it...
Did you need a service call?
Or did you want us to guess what you are going to plug into it?

I would go for the $199 for 2 yrs. deal and just port your numbers over with Carrie Barr. Works fast, within 24 hrs. you're done.

BTW, I converted 3 folks today from 15 months and 12 months (w. 2 phones) deals to this deal. I could not reach them, just did it while driving home. The SALES people in CA are very good to work with. I bet if you call them tonight you get what you were looking for.

Geo.,
I know you've posted Carrie's # before, but would you mind doing it again?
Also, do I get another S/R, activate it, then call Carrie and port my old #?

I posted in the other thread exactly what I was plugging into it. Soem calculation end that I'd get about 50 minuts of power but other threads I read in other forums have people saying they get multiple hours of time.

There's a Belkin 1100VA UPS on sale at CompUSA this week for $80 that I might just go buy and test myself and see how long it lasts.

Anyone getting any wireless phones outside of what they can probably give you? Also, how does one get a lot of this "carrie" person that you guys speak of? Could someone PM me her information? Is it too late if I already ordered to talk to Carrie to get a free wireless phone with this promotion?

KuJax-

The free phones don't come with the 2 yr./$199 promotion. However, you can probably find someone here to split referral credit with. SR currently gives 50 points for these referrals, which means $50. Split if with someone, then each get $25 worth of stuff. Sometimes on amazon.com that may buy the 2-phone system by itself.

Carrie Barr is the person who deals with all porting issues (porting your # from one provider to your current SR account.) Her phone number is 1-703-394-4188. Her email address is carrie.barr@sunrocket.com

Ridefree-

Yes, I would just sign up for the $199/2 yr. deal, then simply port your phone numbers (with Carrie's help.) Then cancel your old account and get the prorated refund.

George,
How about if we just started pairing the users up in the $50 deal?
That way, they each recommend each other and do not have to split the $50, instead getting $50 for each other?

Maybe even better than sliced bread?

Someone PM me and we'll test it out.

Think I might have scored myself my first referral in a while. A neighbor was over this weekend and we got to talking about SunRocket somehow, and by the end of it they were considering signing up.

I don't get em too often, so I get a bit excited when I land one. Will be nice to have some points to play with.

availability map seems to indicate I'm covered, but when I enter my phone number it says no.

That's odd that the map online said you're covered but the system says you're not. Maybe you want to give SunRocket a buzz and get that sorted out? It could be some minor error on their part. I know they're Cust. Service has been pretty good lately.

Did anyone get a giftcard from the Cinco De Mayo promo this weekend? How much was it for?

yeah, they are giving away 50 points now. I was hopelessly maxed out on my primary # (and contemplated getting a new account and porting #s to free up referral space) but they allowed me to place the referrals on the signature number. Cool.

Anyone else having trouble with the Gizmo? (Innomedia MTA6328-2RE)
Mine craps out after about a minute. (VOIP LED runs for about a minute after powering off/on then goes off and stays off)

Running it AFTER my router.

Ps: Laketrout. I signed up on May 5th, but did not receive any sort of gift card. (simply the $199/24 month deal)

AirMail1- I looked again...here is the screenshot I took:
Cinco De Mayo

Now, that I'm looking at it again, it give the deal that is exactly what you got. My bad.
I think the promotion I was thinking of was the giftcard they do for Friends/Family referrals.

Woops! Hope I didn't cause you to freak out there!

Word is that the 24 months/$199 special will be repeated on Mother's Day. Just a heads up for those who are looking to get in on that deal.
