I don't see the correlation at all. FWIW I liked Napoleon Dynamite, but it has essentially nothing in common with Super Bad, other than the fact that both involve high-school students. The American Pie comparison also seems bizarre, if not quite as bizarre as ND.

Did you like 40-Year-Old Virgin or Knocked Up? Those are probably the best clues as to how this movie will turn out.

not sure how you guys see this as NOT a cheap rip off of American Pie type movies....which trailer do you guys think is the funniest for this movie. Maybe I'm missing something???

You are indeed missing something. I think none of the trailers are funny

You guys aren't alone, did they purposely make the trailers unfunny to save the good stuff for the screen? I mean.. none of it really seemed funny at all to me, maybe I don't get it because I wasn't that pathetic with girls at my school, I just don't see how this is getting such an ovation based on what I've seen advertised.

The first trailer I saw for it didn't look all that funny. Then I saw the trailer with the McLovin part in it and I was cracking up. At the end of it, that geeky kid is in bed with some girl in a hotel room and for some reason those two cops had busted in on him and are all "McLovin! Way to go!" as the girl is running for the door, lol. It could go either way. I've gone to movies where I saw a funny part in a trailer and that turned out to be the only funny part in the whole movie.

His character was just terribly repressed, conditioned by his father. Even with that deficiency, I'd claim he was the most normal member of the family . I hadn't realized his new character was that similar.

Just saw it, and i agree. I thought it was hilarious. It delivered what i expected...and i laughed quite a bit.
