I actually expected it, surprised it went into OT.

I should have made bets on the Pats at halftime, but I usually do not bet on sports to begin with.

I thought that was way too much to overcome, particularly with the Falcons having so much success and momentum. One has to consider it an epic choke...31 unanswered points!

My only thought was Atlanta's offense was on the field so little that they couldn't get into sync. NE made adjustments and didn't allow Atlanta's rbs get the corner. And Atlanta's defense was getting exhausted and was letting NE move the ball most of the game but NE was screwing up with the TOs. Amazing game!!!

What I thought myself, I mentioned that in the second quarter several pages back.

The adjustments after halftime usually makes a big difference, and what a team can do in the 4th Qtr.

Atlanta pretty much choked there.

I didn't respond to your earlier post as to the possibility of a comeback because the Pats were failing in so many areas I thought it IMPOSSIBLE but DAMM what a ballgame!. Everyone who posted earlier in the thread just wanted an exciting game and yea, I get the Pats hate but win or lose they NEVER bore!..

You forgot that Ryan has a history of choking and his stupidity in the 4th gave the game away. This was easily the biggest choke in SB history. I'm apparently the only one who noticed him leaving 15+ seconds on the play clock on nearly every snap in the 4th. That alone probably cost them he game.

I'm telling you guys, Atlanta's clock and game management in the 4th mirrored what we see here during Colts games. Anyone with an ounce of sense closes that game out. You don't leave 15+ seconds on the play clock in the 4th, you don't take sacks in FG range, and you definitely should be running when in game winning FG range. I am appalled at Atlanta's game management in the 4th. I think even an idiot like Chuck Pagano probably wins.

Atlanta's defense was exhausted because the offense couldn't do shit in the second. I do feel sorry for the defensive players but Atlanta deserved this loss. It is on them.

This is the second Super Bowl where I feel like this should not have happened. In both cases what I think should not have happened is the Patriots winning. The first was against Seattle with the int in the end zone at the end. Here the sack and penalty preventing a field goal should not have happened.

You can make a case that Brady and Bellichick should have been 7-0 or maybe 2-5 in Super Bowls, thats how close they were, but this one is incomprehensible. I still think its more about Atlanta finding a way to lose an unloseable scenario. Even though I dont like them, the Pats historically always keep playing, and if they were up by 25 they would have kept their foot on the gas. Atlanta goes prevent and tries to run out the clock in the middle of the third quarter. And even then, they needed to hold a falling d-lineman to give away their FG to ice the game. What a collapse.
