I had one and only one major thought before the game:

I doubted that the Rams had an answer for Julian Edleman and that the lack of that would spell their doom in the game. I was spot fucking on.

Edit: Now, after watching the game, my thought is that the NFL's lack of an answer for Pats/Belichik/Brady belies the quality of the league.

Actually, their d-line did have something to show for it, holding the Pats to 3/13 on 3rd down is no easy feat. Although Brady was only sacked once, he clearly had the "clock" running on every dropback and did not have much time for reads at all. If any team was to play the Pats in a SB and hold that offense to 13 points they would call that a huge success. As for the Pats defense, with a superb game plan in hand, they probably watched for 2 weeks all about the Ram's high-profile defense with 7 1st round picks manning it and felt like they were not respected and the Rams scoring offense, (1st in the NFL during regular season) was predicted to ravage them similar to what Foles did last year.

I just keeping hearing and reading about how high % both AD and Suh were double teamed when they were on different teams (like over 60% of snaps, I think I heard north of 70% even) about how they would just walk over everyone when you can't double team both now. Was expecting more out of the line over the whole season. Wonder what sort of market Suh will get since he was playing on a prove it contract.

I agree about the lack f quality in the league. I've been saying this for many years.

I think that answer is Patrick Mahones, that is if KC's new defensive HC can better that unit to just average. While the Pats tend to grind you down with the old-school run game and short passes, KC can get into the EZ in 1-3 plays with their speed at WR and their QB's breathtaking arm.
