I swore I would never root for the Rams after the Greatest Show on Turf kept running up the score on hapless teams deep into the 4th quarter. I can clearly remember them being up 20+ and throwing the ball downfield with less than a minute left. But Martz is gone, and I am tired of the Patriots. Just like I am tired of the Warriors, the Uconn women's basketball, etc. Ready for some new blood.

If the Saints won it would have had asterisk next to it too because of the blatant missed facemask call on Goff, resulting in a (99% chance) of a 4 point swing.

EDIT:

Oh and the Redskins would have been in the playoffs and made a Super Bowl run if they called PI in the Texans game and set them up for a chip shot FG to win. So anyone else who wins deserves an asterisk because of the missed call.

Exactly. So many calls thru the entire year that can change the outcome of any game. A week 5 game matters, it can put you in or out of the playoffs. I am so very tired of the same talking heads regurgitating the same drivel about how the Saints got robbed, and the Rams dont deserve to be there. Yes, the missed PI call was absolutely terrible. Even worse because of what was going on in the game, and it was in the wide open. Not in the mix of several dudes. No way it should be missed. But not giving any credence to other missed calls, like the specific one you mentioned, is just dumb. Several big calls missed. Bottom line is, the Saints had the ball on 1st down at the 40 in OT. They get a TD, they win. They threw an INT.

My favorite sports show is PTI, been watching it forever. Even they have fallen victim to the bs of Rams dont belong. And usually they dont fall prey to such nonsense.

We need to let go. The Saints are getting too far into whining territory. There's nothing to be done on our end. Goodell is once again mishandling a situation and the refs clearly need to be punished for generally calling bad games all playoffs. Let the NFL handle (or most likely not address at all) those things, and just prepare for the drought of sports until September.

It's time to start thinking about Mardi Gras and fishing.

I agree. Sadly, its still a main topic for most of the news. ESPN has a headline of how Sean Payton couldnt leave his cave for 3 days because of that call. Nevermind the fact that they benefited from many missed calls. Its all the refs fault, boo hoo.

Chiefs fans are almost as bad. Crying about the (right) calls of off sides and not touching the punt. Yet they are quiet about the blatant push off by Kelce for a 12 yard TD, that should have been offensive PI. All this PI talk, and nobody talking about that blow PI call. Two arms to the chest of the db, and pushed off till elbows locked out, got separation. Clear PI, no call.

It has been reported that the NFL is looking into having a few coaches challenges for subjective call, like PI. If you get it wrong lose a timeout and/or run off the clock. Which will do nothing but give the Saints more ammo to cry for years to come.

IMO they should just keep the same exact challenge rules as far as the number of them allowed, booth reviews within 2 minutes, etc, but they should just change what is challengeable. I also think they should do something like they do in the NHL where they have people in NY who can call into any game and tell them to look at any play, but in the NFL, only ones that are OBVIOUSLY and blatantly wrong.

Yea, have agree, crying about Ford not being "warned" he was offside's, meanwhile KC commited offensive PI on 2 occasions that deserved a flag but none were thrown. Also they were grabbing /holding Pat's recivers most of the game, even Romo noted it and said "they'll contine to do so until it's called".

Been a pats fan since Age 7, so I think I’ll stick with them for the win. Not at all bored with the great success of the Belichick/Brady run. I spent a long time being underwhelmed.

Yea, I remember a lot of lean years and Sullivan Stadium was an embarrassment, no seats, just aluminum benches with a # spray painted on them. To think he, (Sullivan) built an entire facility for $6 million seems comical today, it did offer great sight lines though.

I thought that it was down to either Wales or Ireland. But after Wales' dire first half against France and England playing a blinder I'm having to reconsider.

Well, voted for Rams. But I have no confidence in this vote.
I think the Rams have the tools to pull this (minor) upset off, their run D was suspect during the reg season but has been terrific thus far in the postseason, if that continues today their experienced DB's can make for a long day for the Patriot offense. I have to give them credit, down 0-13 to the Saints playing in that dome I thought they were toast, they just kept bringing it, Brees never really looked comfortable all game and the rest is history. I don't think the lack of SB experience will be a factor, it was talked about ad nauseam last year and Philly played fine.

What the hell is this half time show? They're not even pretending the musical styles have anything to do with each other. "Here's a nonsensical mix of songs from 15 years ago"

Game is pretty boring so far.

The commercials are OK. The Bud light merging into the HBO Promo was different.

that would be the NFL rolling over to all the idiotic criticism of "omg why are you having an internationally popular group do the show and not some unknown Atlanta rapper... racists!?"

so we end up with a ridiculous hodge podge of trying to satisfy everyone in possibly the least smooth show in years. you're right... seems like zero fucks were given in trying to integrate everyone as they usually do.
