That never came up. All the person had asked for was the product name (Maxtor 40gb 7200rpm hard drive) and my upc code to be read to them, which i did. They said it was now validated and I should expect the rebate in within a few weeks.

The upcs are different between the 2 models.

OK, My OD rebate (the Express Group) has OK'd my rebate. They have sent an email confirming this.

The Maxtor rebate (Rebates HQ) has not posted my status yet. I will probably give it a few more days to a week before calling them.

How long did it take for you guys to have your rebate posted by RebatesHQ (maxtor rebate)? Did you get an email confirmation?

Rebate is validated now and "in the final stages of processing." After I asked them why it got declined they asked for the product name (Maxto 40gb 7200rpm drive) and then the upc code (last few digits 02567 1) and without anything futher they said "I went ahead and validated for you, expect it in a few weeks."

Other then that, there's really nothing else. Apparently the upc is listed on the ok'd list because a few others with the STU had this as well and they are approved.

Rebate status from RebateHQ took 10 business days from mail drop off to posting and this was mailed from Illinois (to them in Texas).

Hi Kenny.

I would not be concerned yet. Especially with the just passed holiday, who knows what hours they were working. If the rebates don't show up by next weekend, I might give them a call the following monday to see what's up.

Maybe they are overwhelmed due to the "Anandtech Effect".

I wouldn't worry. I sent mine out on the 21st or 22nd of August and just this Tuesday did the other one show up at rebatehq so give it about another week and a half or so.

Thanks guys, I know I sent them to the right places and sent the real UPC to the place in TX and a copy of the UPC to the one in Walled Lake, MI. Hopefully they will show up in the next week or so.

I bought 2 drives and sent one set of rebates to my folks place in my dad's name. I sent the rebates for my parents house a couple of days before my own rebates and I just heard from express group about my rebate submission, which is weird. I would've thought it would've been the other way around.

BTW.. I'm approved on the express group $30 MIR and I sent photo copies of everything, as one should. I was a lot more worried about this rebate submission than I was about the rebateshq/Maxtor rebate submission.

I just wanted to mention that Express Group has been awesome so far. This is my first time dealing with this fulfillment house and I'm impressed. I sent 2 rebate submissions to Express Group and 2 to Rebateshq a week ago and both of my rebates have shown up online for Express Group, but nothing yet for Rebateshq.

Now.. We'll see how long it takes to get the rebates..

Ordered mine on 8-21 and got it about 3 days later. Didnt have a receipt in the bag so went online and requested a copy of it. Never got the copy so called up today and csr faxed me copies of it and said no problem with still getting the rebate! Said to tell them he said it was ok and to call them back if I didnt get it. Pretty cool getting a 40 giger 133 for about &15 after taxes and rebates!!

I'm approved for both of my rebates now (OD/Express Group & Maxtor/Rebateshq). All I have to worry about now is getting my rebate for the $100 WD120JB drive at CUSA and the DDR RAM $65 MIR from OD. I'm really sweating those two.

Just received mine today, the retail box inside looked like it went thru a war. The outside packing box was fine, call OD for a RMA no problem. Was going to open it & see if it still worked if I could could get both rebates but OD said anything on backorder they wouldn't extend their own war. So back it goes:disgust:
