GetReal, I spoke to a csr about 15 mins ago and she didn't say this was instore only. I told her that I was trying to order the hd and the price should be $89.99. She then told me it won't show that price on their website until 7am.

Did anyone in LA area buy their Sunday paper tonight? Does the OD ad say this is an instore only deal?

I would not be laughing just yet as most OD B&Ms are absolutely horrible about pulling OD.com pickup orders before opening each morning. It is highly likely that one of those "poor souls " could still get your drive and leave you emply-handedIf you really want this drive you had better stand in line with the "poor souls " or at least call the store before it opens and verify they pulled your order..

I got out of stock for local pickup, too. Same thing happened to last weekend when I tried to order the 60Gb HD's online, with the free ATA-133 IDE card. So, I went to the local store and they took care of me. In the morning I'm going to call and see if they have any of these 40Gb's instock.

i think it's just out of stock temporarily at the 89.99 price for those who logged in - if i don't log in, but do put in my zip code for real-time inventory, it's in-stock but the price is 109.99

yeah i had to call them to get my zip code entered, but in the end i was able to order it (here in berkeley) as a pickup. the total came out to about $75 after tax minus the rebates = $15. sweet.

quick question: i get teh 89.99 price but when i click checkout it says "product availability has been verified" then it says "product has NOT been added to your cart" then i have no choice but to click "OK" where it takes me to an empty cart where i see my 20 off 75 coupon. does this mean the deal is dead in my area (i mean my B&Ms are OOS)?

Just got one - Coral Springs Florida store. No problems so far - we'll see how the rebates go...

FWIW to anyone else in the area - they seem to indicate that there's still more in stock at that store.

Not necessarily. Keep trying. If you can't get one online, call your store OR just show up there in person at 10 AM (sunday). Last week when I wanted the 60Gb HD's the website didn't refelct the real inventory my local store had, as they had 2 instock.

Ain't that the truth. One of the stores by me doesn't even bother checking the orders, they just throw them in a basket with misc memo's.
