Scan it and email it? Snail mail it to me? PM me please.

I just ordered the drive but could only find one rebate. I already got zapped on the $20 off $75. Couldn't get that one to take.

Got mine on Monday: $89.99 + $7.42 (8.25% sales tax) - $20 (online coupon) - $10 (Office Depot e-mail coupon) - $30 (OD MIR) - $30 (Maxtor MIR) = $6.59

2 more in stock @ Schaumburg IL OD B&M

I called and they said they had 3 in stock. I went to the store but none were in the case so I asked for help. Turns out there were three in "receiving". The guy grabbed one for me.

At the register I told the guy that I tried ordering online with the $20 off $75 coupon but they were on backorder. I told him that I called customer service and they said that if I printed out the coupon and the cart and showed it at the store that it would be honored. He said "no problem" and rang it up.

The OD rebate (MI address) printed at the register. The Maxtor one (TX address) can still be had online.

$89.99
-$20.00 off $75 (online coupon matched at store)
-$30.00 OD rebate
-$30.00 Maxtor rebate
+$ 7.42 sales tax (@8.25%)
=$17.41

That's a very good question. I'm sure the OD buyer and Maxtor sales rep. only intended for one $30 rebate to be valid but it looks like OD setup their own $30 rebate not knowing that Maxtor also had one in place.

I'm curious if OD will honor their own $30 rebate handled by the Express Group.

If they renege, they're sure be some pretty pissed off consumers, especially since BOTH were clearly posted on the OD rebate web site earlier in the week.

The online CSR that I spoke with indicated that there was $60 in rebates. I think that the store site even said that there are 2 rebates available for your purchase at one time. What pisses them off is that people are also using the $20 off $75 online coupons for this deal.

Great! Do you think it matters that the scan is in black and white though? I wouldn't think so, but i'm just asking.

For those of you that are getting the backorder message...has anyone called any of the stores to see when they will be getting more of these in?

This is clearly damage control. There's no way they can turn these rebates away when we have copies of both rebates and "proof" that they posted both on their Web site. Nothing (address, inclusions, purchasing period, processing time) on the original rebates match, except the dollar amounts. It would be a little hard to prove it was meant to be a collaborative effort between OD and Maxtor.

I stopped by my local store this morning and they had 4 in stock. Even better, they had the $69.99 price tag for the 5400rpm sitting in front of them. I didn't even need the $20 off $75 and still got out the door for $76 after tax.

I just looked at the OD website and the drive shows up as in stock for zip 35405. Also, they have removed the OD MIR, only the Maxtor MIR is still on the site. I'm glad I printed it out on Monday!!

Good Luck Everyone!

yep, and I can't believe the OD/Express Group rebate actually says you can use a copy of the UPC. That is cool.

Color and quality of print has no bearing on rebate acceptance. Unless, of course, you can't read the address on your copy and you send it to the wrong place All they care about is the receipt, UPC and legible handwriting so they can send you a check.

Just a heads up for the people with the "3 day delivery" in waiting...Myself and a friend each had an order waiting....both were canceled due to "backorder" and new orders created. The new orders don't reflect the $20.00 coupon. I called and was told that the coupon was "bogus" and that it was not being allowed on new orders. I canceled...not worth the hassle!

J or L??? Mine has lots of both!! Talk about alphabet soup!
my label has J6L2 and Kit: L01J040G
I guess it's liquid. The ship date to the store was 8/18!! ATA 133 too.

Do I have to send in the entire UPC label (all the way down to the S/N at the bottom, or just the top 1 inch of it?)

Should we contact OD to make certain they will honor both rebates (they were very cool back in Jan with the free AR Linksys router fiasco)???

I was just there today and they said that they are no longer carrying this item, what they have is it. They had like 75 at a warehouse or something and 65 were already on hold to be shipped for people. She took my name down but didnt get a confirmation for me, hopefully I will get one!!

Just have to wait and see!

It's possible they could reject rebate submissions post marked after the date they corrected the program. OD's culture doesn't seem this low but it is possible.

I'm sure the buyer isn't getting the marketing funds from Maxtor since this looks to be an OD screwup. They might have to fund the Express Group promo out of their own budget. We'll see how this plays out. The Express Group payments could be slow comming until this is all straightened out.
