I've managed to get 2 $20 off coupons (using two different accounts). The first one i got by first clearing my cookies, then creating a new account. I believe i then went back to the home page, waited a few seconds, then a flash thing popped down from the top of the screen with a link to the offer. Later, I cleared my cookies again, then logged back to one of my regular accounts, went to the home page, waited a few seconds, and there it was again,

I think the key is going back to the home page and waiting for a few seconds for the flash thing to pop up. Also, I used IE on Win2k for this, I would suspect browsers such as Mozilla might not work (I've never even seen a gold box using mozilla, but it comes up in IE all them time).

I cleared my cookies to get the coupon and it worked! But no more Goldbox!

I cleared again and again, but to no avail. Then I tried visiting using NN instead of IE and it worked. Then I went back to the same account in IE and it was back.

Looks like amazon really does have some bizarre way of doing these things (in addition to dynamic prices that are higher for long time users).

I got this to work by setting up a number of new accounts, most of which yielded a dvd sale link rather than the $20 off.

Also, apparently these coupons are not stackable. I was going to get a dvd too, use my borders gift card (from the old old oldsmobile test drive days). No go.

Lost the $20 in the process.

Ended up ordering a jvc xv-s500bk dvd player to play some svcd's on.

Not a bad buy for $140. No need to exercise click citi.

Install IE, Netscape 4.79, 6.0, Mozilla, and Opera, than you would have a better chance of the gold box coming up.

If you're having trouble finding your gold box, try lowering your browser security settings. Another thread mentioned that helps.

What I can't believe is how the same items pop up in the gold box over and over. They need to figure out eventually that gold boxes only help make sales when they contain things the customer wants to buy.
