Try setting the IE security level down to low and then clearing your cookies... you should get the gold box back when you login to amazon again- afterwards, just put the security back to what you had it at and you should still have the gold box worked for me

You need to clear your browser cookies and try. If goldbox didn't appear, clear your browser cookies and try again. Goldbox will appear at last.

For people who has multiple Amazon account, you need to clear your cookies and log in to get multiple $20 off $99 coupon code. If you just log out and log in without clearing your cookies first, you won't see the $20 off $99 coupon again.

And you don't have to use the coupon code until you find a good deal in Electronics, but no late than 7/31

Each coupon code is unique (format like XS7N-XXXXXX-XXXXXX), like a GC, but it can only be used once and before 7/31. And I think you can only get one such code per account.

Guys, be patient. I had hardware crap for all five of my goldbox items too, but then I clicked close gold box and the 20 off coupon link appeared on the amazon home page. At least for me, I got if after the gold box and it was NOT a gold box offer. Hope this helps some of you.

Ok. Here is how I get it (and probably you can get it too)

Step 1: Clear your browser cache (for windows 2000 or xp, it's in C:\Documents and Settings\your account name\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files) or: Click "Tools" and choose "Internet Options", click "Settings" under "Temporary Internet Files". Next, click "View Files" tab.

Step 2: Visit http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/static/-/goldbox/index/

You should see a goldbox like this

If you can't see it, repeat step 1 and 2.

Step 3: Click on "personalized recommendations" link and sign in.

Step 4: Click "Welcome" tab, and if you see a flash animated advertise of $20 off $99 float from the top of the page and shrink to a small button and float to the right under the goldbox icon, you get it.

I wish I could get some electronics in my gold box. I always get crappy kitchen appliences and REALLY expensive tools (like $300+).. I don't know why they show me this crap, I've never bought any of that stuff from them, I've bought 2 palm pilots, lots of R/C humvees, and a cell phone. So they determine that I would be interested in a blender? jeez.. I still continue to check every day tho

I read, on this thread, that the point of the Gold Box is to sell you things you DONT normally buy.

Someone recommends adding cooking gear to your wish list, which then got him deals on electronics. Weird.

Correct. I followed the link to Amazon on my office machine. The goldbox didn't show but the coupon did. Bought a Siemens cordless phone for 80 bucks. Finally I can get rid of the old & crappy Uniden!


BTW, I've been contemplating to write Amazon an email and ask them WHY THE HECK they think I'd be interested in those expensive home improvement tools, I don't even own a house!!!!:Q Fill my goldbox with something else please, anything but those darn tools! They drive me nuts!!!!:|
