Super hot deal on riovolt sp250: about $136 after rebate

Glad to post a deal that I created. Just did this deal so it works: call jandr.com (at 1800-221-8180) which is selling the riovolt sp250 for 179.99. Tell them to pricematch w/ buy.com which has it for 151.95. They'll price match and charge 4.95 shipping. I guess they don't care that it's out of stock at buy.com. Then, they also have a $20 rebate valid for purchases between dec 1 and dec 31. No tax unless you live in new york, making this a great deal. Delivery in 7-10 days. I'm having it delivered to my parents' home in cali since I'll be there for christmas anyways. So: 151.95 + 4.95 shipping - 20 rebate = about 136.

I prefer the iRiver 2, which is what the Rio SP250
is based off of.

ya but u can't really order an iriver 2 from here, unless u get it fro mpwiz or greymarkey and still is 200+. what if it gets broke then what would u do? atleast the american ver. has warrenty and would be LOT easier to exchange fix etc etc.

wait for the imp-350 to come out, worlds smallest, lightest mp3 player. and u'll be able to buy it from iriver's website. supposedly coming out on the 15th. I expect the prices of other volts to drop drastically.

I think that distribution is going to be too spotty for the RioVolt's to drop suddenly on the day the 250 is released.

J&R posted the Sonicblue rebate form (CC has their own form, sonicblue has d$$k regarding this rebate). I got this at BB for $150 last week thanks to another post here. Not as good as the pricematch deal, but $130 is still a great deal!

BTW, iriveramerica.com has had the press release posted on their website since yesterday...definitely MSRP of $199, and it hits their webstore on 12/15. It looks like other people will be selling it too, but they only named distributors, not retailers. Probably $199 through Christmas at least.

Just to clarify for those who might have been confused (like myself), there is only ONE $20 off present here and that is the rebate. If you read the OP real quick he mentions the $20 rebate twice like there are two (one for J&R and one for Sonicblue)? Anyways, $151.95 - $20 + shipping = ~136.00.

Man both the 250 and the new IRiver units are the Bomb. I got a memorex last xmas while it was good then, that was then and this is now. Like the 320 KPS on the MP3's...memorex can't play them. Almost tempted on the $136 deal for the 250...but may wait for the IRiver to come down.

Cool, I pulled it off. My CSR got me an even better deal. I told him the Buy.com price was $151.95 and he just used $151.00. He also didn't add shipping because Buy.com didn't charge for ups ground.

Total $151-$20=$131.00
