Blue pricematches actual prices (not including promotional coupons). So it is PM'd based on the 599 instead of the 442. You can always OD PM it for a total of ~$200.

Nope. Here is an example:

I order multiple products online from one vendor. I use a coupon for the entire purchase (entire purchase amt is on the cc). The price of one of those products goes down. I call AMEX to do a pricematch and fax the original recepit and the new (better) price. They then match the price on the individual product not including the coupon (who's to say the coupon is for that particular product).

That makes sense, but what if there is only one item on the receipt.

I have used Amex Blue PM before, and now that I think about it, you might be right, i'll take your word for it!

Maybe we should consolidate these rather hopeful, fancy-pricematch, sorta-semi-possible cheap Ipaq threads into one, and tuck em away in a corner til one of them actually works?

I'm sure there will be enough real deals on 3635's and all other current-generation PPC's soon enough anyway. The next generation is hitting the streets, and the manufacturers are going to want to move these out so they can sell the new ones for the Holiday season-- just like they did with Ipaq 3135's, and like they're doing with Jornada 525's.

I'll bet Staples drops prices within the next couple of weeks.

That's not been my experience. Everytime that I have tried to PM with AMEX Blue when a coupon was used on the order (ie Staples) and my order total with a coupon was less than new price, they always use the amount charged and any subsequent credits to to my AMEX Blue against the original charge in the comparison. AMEX Blue also reserves the right to tell you to go back to the store where you originally purchased the item if that store already has a PM policy and you are still within the allowed PM period. I guess as with any company, your success depends on the CSR that handles your request.

I like the deals that take a little effort, rather than the deals that rely on guessing that "Staples will lower their price in 2 weeks".

I think I will just have OD PM the other store to be safe though. (and use my Blue as a backup)

AMEX pricematches the post-coupon price. On an order with multiple items, they also took the coupon into account (splitting it 4 ways), and denied me a pricematch.
