lol! it's so ironic! i was looking @ this thread and the first thing i thought when reading it was how crunk people got over the proview $299 lcd you posted back then

let me give an example of a little clr
last night, in a store
see apc500va for $49.99 each. underneath is sign saying 1/2 off all marked clearance! ask them just to see what they say (know i'm going to get them for that ANYWAY, because it IS LABELED AS SUCH )
2 for $24.99 each, ringing up as $99 EACH
buy something to push it over
throw in $10 off $50
then out comes $15 dollar rebate...

I don't know where you get that from.. I basically got the Monitor for $189, and then paid the $39 for the 1 year replacement warrenty (which is basically just an oppertunity for an upgrade) I think that what those of us with smarts have learned if this "YOUR MILAGE MAY VARY"

for some reason, whenever there's an unbelievable (clearance) deal, the poster of the thread can never seem to provide proof of purchase (a scan or pic of the receipt. )

excuses include, but not limited to

-don't have a scanner
-scanner broke
-digicam? don't have one
-no place to host pictures
-my mama told me to never show my receipt to strangers

I went to the Staples here in Richardson, TX yesterday (Tuesday, July 16, 2002) and found that they had 4 left in the store. I asked an employee for help and explained to him that I called in on Monday and said someone gave me $169 for the price of this monitor (it was marked at 299). Then I told him that I came back b/c of that price. And so he went to talk to his manager and she told me I could get it at $170 if I bought a $50 3-yr service plan with it. So I got two of them. Total was $450 for both monitors. I called the Frisco, TX Staples today and asked if I could return the service plan...they said it was ok.

Does anyone see any potential problems with this as I've never done this before? I'm afraid they'll somehow realize I got the service plan b/c I could get the $170 price. But can't I just say it was pricematched?

Oh, and it's not that bad of a monitor. I personally don't like it that much b/c the max res. is 1024x768 while I've been using a 19" at 1600X1200. BIIIGGG change. My IM windows are like 4x bigger now. haha. But it DOES save space.

Also, does anyone have any coupons i can apply to this already AWESOME deal??

with staples recent scanners deal, how come a hot dealer can't afford a scanner??staples was basically given away the visontech scanner away for $10 after MIR a couple of weeks ago.

I just called the Tigard store and they have zero of these LCD's in stock, the price on the computer shows $299.50 and "clearance".

Not sure if the register price would ring up as $149 or $299.50 but it doesn't matter since they're OUT OF STOCK.

Maybe Tualatin?

I went to my local staples in Huntington Beach ( 2 of them, yorktown & goldenwest and edinger and beach) and they only had the 1545v version for 350 bucks. ohwell. i wasn't expecting to see the 1530 anyways.

Just and FYI, I've tried to return protection plans at a different store than I purchased the product from. They let me return the product, but claimed I had to go the the store of origin to get a refund on the protection plan.

Just got off the phone with the 2 locations in my area and both were sold out@299$. The guy in electronics told me they would be putting the 1545v on clearance very soon though so I should call back frequently to check.
