Super HOT!!!! PS2 30% off!!!

OK, until this morning, I had absolutely NO intention of buying the PSX2. Now, 6 hrs. later, I'm the owner of a PSX2 and Metal Gear Solid 2. Saved $112 (Total price was $262.83 for the two). I'm still surprised at this impulse buy, but I guess I'll say thanks to the original poster of this anyways.

Oh BTW, I haven't tried it yet, but does anyone know if the old PSX memory cards will work with the PSX2?

Damn you people! I don't even play video games that much (other than GT3, FF10). I'm totally broke now from buying pants and sweaters and now this. The deal is VERY tempting indeed. I'd love to buy the PS2 on Dec 26 for ~190. however. Do you guys think that they gonna have the PS2 in stock still on the 26th? I'm not familiar with this store so I don't know if they gonna have more PS2 coming in. Please respond ASAP. Thanks.

The store in Miami has Xbox in stock. The only have 2 tho and they are the bundled ones where you get 2 games, a controller, and a mem card. It was priced at 400 soemthing without the discount.I'm waiting for when they sell just the system.

yes...ps1 mem cards work w/ ps2...but only ps1 games...

and about applying for blue...how long does it take to get accepted and get the card in the mail?....i really want an xbox!

Just got back from the one in Union Square in NYC, out of stock on Xboxes. There are signs that says 30% off Everything using the Blue card. Picked up some Xbox accessories till they get the console in stock.

You can apply online at American Express. They have an online application with that will tell you if you are approved or not 60 seconds after filling out your application. If your accepted, they can give you an account number right then and they tell you your credit limit and interest rate. The first 6 months are 0% interest and after that it varies with a minimum of 9.99%.

The actual card is received 2 weeks later.

Well, I want to thank the person who started this thread. I went to Virgin today right when they opened and I was the only one in the store for at least 15 minutes. During that time I grabbed the second to last game cube package (extra controller, Madden 2002, Rogue Squadron, Luigi's Mansion, and memory card), tony hawk 3, NHL 2002 blitz(?), and two extra controllers. It was $400 out the door, which is cheaper than just buying the package on it's own.

Virgin stores in Costa Mesa and the one at the Block in Orange(Anaheim), are out of Xbox's and I presume Gamecube's as well. There are plenty of games if you want to get some, although the wave race game wasn't at the one in Orange. Both places had plenty of PS2's left.

Does anyone know when Virgin is going to get a new shipment of Xbox's or games?

For other people to know as well, they sell books, magazines, and figurine's at Virgin stores. Things like Spawn Figures, simpsons figures, if you're into that stuff.

i also found it odd that they had the seperate console for the blue cards but still had to manually take out the 30%
the manager told me it was because AMEX pays virgin the 30% and they had to keep it all seperate

gonna head back in a few weeks to snag more games

store in Columbus, Oh was all out of Devil May Cry.
And at the time i was there (around 5pm yesterday) they had tons of ps2s, many xbox and gamecubes, and about 10 gameboy advanced

On the coupon book that they give you, there are a couple of good coupons but you can't use them until Dec. 26th. The bad thing is, the Amex deals expires on the 26th! Do these deals overlap? If yes, I'll be the first one at VMS on the 26th to take advantage of the 55% off discount.
