They were the last 2 hynix chips at my local CC, But they perform poorly c/w 2 crucial pc2700 512 sticks I also have. The crucials run fine @ 185 w/ 6-2-2-2.5 settings. The Kingstons needed 8-3-3-2.5 to boot (2.77volts), would o/c to 215 , but didn't pass Prime95 T'test @ any speed from 185 up. Bahh what a disappointment !
What revision 8RDA+ MB do you have?
What is the date of your BIOS too?
I have been running a Kingston PC2700 512MB that has Micron 6ns chips as my first real attempt to OC and it is running at 192fsb in sync with the Barton 2500+ to achieve 2.23 instead of what the Barton is rated at (BIOS is May 7). I did pick up two of the Hynix and will try them out when I get a chance. I have two PC's that are using the EP-8RDA+ MB, the other has two-256MB Kingston HyperX PC3500 chips but I haven't tried to OC it yet. It has a "good" 1700+ CPU that should be a good OCer...
I am just very interested in the Kingston 512MB PC2700 RAM, as around here, I have found them with Hynix, Samsung, Micron, Infineon, Kingston-Micron, and even Kingston-Winbond. The Micron is working great right now in my EP-8RDA+, and I cant complain, as it cost me only $30 AR a couple of weeks ago for 512MB and that beats the heck out of $90 elsewhere...
So, what are the opinions/facts about the various manufacturers of chips for the Kingston:
Kingston - Micron
Kingston - Winbond
Samsung
Micron
Hynix
Infineon
(These are the only one's I have seen - so far!)
