So, Of the utmost basics, I'm wanting to be able to access my shared folders on my work computer, from my laptop. While I'm on the same network, obviously it's as simple as \\mycomputer\shareddrive, but from my understanding, a vpn basically let's you do the same thing, regardless of where in the world my laptop is at, as long as it's online. So, can anybody here walk me through setting up a VPN? Also, as I'm sure the info is needed, my work computer is on DSL, and where I live, it's not possible, without spending huge sums of money, to get a static ip. Would I need to setup some sort of dns or something, or? I'm suuuper lost here.
I actively use Teamviewer for controlling my work computer ( and others ), and I've tried using the teamviewer vpn, but when I have it open the vpn connection, it doesn't seem like it works. I can't access any shares, unless I'm doing something wrong?
Any advice ( preferably not links ) would be super helpful!
Thanks!
