But I was at the BR on the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, and the BR there has a crapload of shoes on sale. These normally are $130 or so, but they were priced $29.99.

I picked up a pair myself...

uclaxman has a point. BR stuff may be better than Kmart, but it doesn't even compare to actual designers (Gucci, Theory, Diesel, RL Purple Label, Zegna, Brioni, Prada, etc. -- just to name a few). Depends on how much money you want to spend.

I've got BR stuff, but it can't touch my better clothing.

oh my god...that shiet is so overpriced...give me a break...the cost of some of those clothes is like 5x(sometimes even higher) more than what you would pay for at our "crap no-brand" stores...and the quality is NOT 5x better

normally, when both are on sale, designer brand clothing (Gucci, Zegna, Theory, Armani, etc) is still at least twice as much name brand clothing (BR, FCUK, etc)

bottomline.. most of the time you get what you pay for.. and of course there are other times when you get lucky

it all comes down to how much you think you need to spend. i've owned prada and gap, i now buy what is the best value ('cept when it comes to shoes. mephistos are the only way to go)
