I live in an area that is extremely heavy on the Bernie/Warren crowd. Literally every conversation with Warren supporters that involves Bernie also involves people bitching about the Bernie Bros. Every. Single. One.

Haha, I don't doubt this one bit.

Yeah, I know rather a lot of women who readily complain about the misogynistic abuse they've received from Sanders supporters and Black people who complain about the racist abuse they've received from Sanders supporters. (And of course Black women who can cite all too many examples of the misogynoir they've had to deal with.)

The bags of crap are undoubtedly a small minority of Sanders supporters, but they're a very loud minority.

"If you don't follow the democrats like a cult and dismiss any and all criticism then you're not a true democrat!" lol

Christ, you guys really do make it into a cult-like team following.
I am a cult like follower of truth and facts.

Again though, can you actually point to a single toxic activity by a 'Bernie Bro'? Or is it people just pointing at phantoms, as we did with the 2016 election?

Your characterization is every bit as scurrilous as Starbuck's. At least you're not pretending to be a Democrat.

Well, it looks like 47% of the people (and 52% of the EC) are going to have to hold their nose and vote for Trump again, even thought they totally don't like his policies, because the Democrats were once again unable to produce a single candidate that aligned with every singe one of their politics, while coming up with a plan to save dying industries that no longer have any reason to exit, while finding high paying jobs for 51 year old manual laborer's with 3 years of high school education that does not require them to put in any effort or move from their ghost towns.

When will Democrats learn? They force people to vote Republican.

I’m unclear about what you’re asking for. Are you claiming the mass online harassment of people who criticize Sanders isn’t a thing?

I mean just on this forum Blackjack200 has definitely made me less positively disposed towards Sanders as Blackjack displays the same kind of conspiratorial mindset and rejection of facts that Trumpkins do.

I'm claiming that I don't believe there's actually some surge of real people in the US that are supporters of Bernie Sanders, sitting in front of their computer or hitting the streets, that are harassing other people because the don't support Bernie.

I would be completely open to the theory of a mass psyops campaign by foreign(or domestic) actors to taint Bernie as a candidate by painting his supporters as vile, racist, misogynistic, or whatever.

Regarding blackjack, he's likely just a fucking troll, as he has been for years.

This is insanely contemptuous of working class people. Disgusting.

It is sarcasm. I'm poking fun at some of the silly arguments that Conservatives make on why they are going to vote for Trump again even though they keep saying that don't like his policies. To make the point I exaggerate a bit. But honestly go read some of the arguments they make. They are basically making the argument that we need to find undereducated manual labor people high paying jobs, and that it is unrealistic to expect them to do any training or move.

I don't think there are tons of them, but as ewdotson mentioned they are very loud.

I'm sure some of them aren't real but I tend to doubt a coordinated attempt by people to taint Bernie as a candidate as it isn't really a secret that Republicans and the Russians view him as their preferred Democratic nominee. Not because they agree with his policies or that he's colluding with them like Trump did or whatever but because they apparently believe he would be Trump's weakest plausible opponent.

Could be!

Deleted my post because I don't totally understand the bit you're doing, but working class people absolutely need higher wages and it's not realistic or reasonable to tell them to move to urban centers or the coasts.

I have no desire to identify as a Democrat. I am an independent who will vote with Democrats to get rid of Trump...I’m simply trying not to get shot in the circular firing squad/circle jerk, depending on the day

I agree with you. Working class needs better pay. They have been falling behind the curve for decades now, and our answer to every problem can't be education or move. Those are individual solutions to a systemic problem. Those that will accept and act on those solutions don't need us to point them out to them.

But, we have to be reasonable about our expectations as well. There simply is no magic answer for people in dying industries. It is not in the interest of the nation to keep these industries on life support just so a few thousand people don't have to find new jobs. There is basically no answers that don't require them to meet us halfway. It does not help them to lie to them. It just kicks the problem down the road.

How about take the money from those that made fortunes from those industries, and divest it back to the communities?

We could even do that with existing industries that aren't dying!

Hell let's come up with a fun word for it, maybe tax? We all good with the word tax? Show of hands?

Then why the pretext of this process? If the Party Elites have such an agenda already, they should select their Candidate like Cardinals select the Pope and end the sham of Democratic selection by the voting public. The time of Party Insider selection occurs at the point one attempts to get on the initial ballot, not during the process when you have opened the selection up to the Public.

It's not pretext, is IS the process.

Slight disagreement - I don't think it's solely a matter of their thinking that he'd be Trump's weakest plausible opponent. (They're perfectly happy to also prop up Tulsi despite her never having had an actual chance.) I think there's a fair amount of their considering dialing up the chaos, internal dissention and general distrust of political institutions here in the States. Win or lose, the worst aspects of Sanders campaign and his worst supporters are great for that.

The theory that makes sense to me is that Trump is anticipating that Bernie will not get the nomination, and by suggesting the Democrats rigged the primary, he's hoping he can depress turnout among Bernie's supporters. I guess you could also argue that he's simply trying to create internecine conflict with no real strategy other than hoping that conflict will weaken the party.

Oh, I was purely talking about why the Russians intel/propaganda machine puts out pro-Bernie stuff. And don't get me wrong, I'm very certain that a non-trivial portion of those loud and obnoxious "Bernie supporters" aren't even Americans, let alone actual Bernie supporters.

The calculus for Trump (and the competent members of his staff), are somewhat different.

Except those actors have been & still are boosting both Trump & Bernie, each for entirely different reasons-

Their cold blooded objective assessment is that Bernie is a sure loser. All things considered, I'm not prepared to question their judgement. Meanwhile, the whole crooked Bidens in Ukraine routine is their brainchild as is the DNC server conspiracy theory.

I have to give Warren credit... at least she didn't endorse Biden like everyone else before throwing in the towel.
