Super urgent, plz help

Hi guys i have an WD SATA 3 500 GB - WD5000AAKX, Which is no longer detectable in my PC.

I have used the Super speed mode in Asus P6x58DE motherboard BIOS, since then the the pc stoped detecting my HDD. What can be the issue ?? plz help as my valuable data i being lost.

I turned to normal mode again but the HDD is not getting detected

The PC is unable to boot as HDD is not getting detected. Plz help urgent.

Are you getting the "Missing BootMGR" message when the computer finishes POST?

There is a more than likely chance that the data is still safely stored on the HDD, but somewhere between your BIOS and the MBR has gone wonky.

I would remove that drive from your computer and plug it in on another machine via a SATA to USB adapter and backup all your data first.

Boot to your OS disk and try a repair install. (Assume it is Win7.)

my HDD gets detected if i plug it in sata 2 connectors but not bootabgle, its not getting detected in sata 3 connectors ??

As my data is much imp i'll back it up first if everything is still there. the super speed option is for raid for 2 HDD. it was an stupid move by me as i turned it on for 1 HDD.

as off not i'll try if gets detected on my friends pc as an storage drive and after backing up all the data. i'll reformat it to wholly.

any other recommendations ??

Hi guys, i have found out abt the Asus Drive expert mode, its just an option for Intel raid ICH10R.

I am not understanding why my HDD is not getting detecting ?? do i have to add an another HDD to detect the previous HDD ?? or the drivers gets installed automatically when asus drive xpert has been turned on ?? if yes plz tell me how to uninstall that as of for now i just want to use single HDD.

i have reset my bios and also remove the battery for the CMOS to get reset coz i was unaware that my mobo has an CMOS clear switch but hte problem continues and my HDD is not getting detected. i am not able to set the HDD as my boot priority.

i think the asus drive xpert feature installed ans raid driver on the HDD which makes it undetectable if that drive is used as an single drive. i can't lose my data i want it ((

First of all, backup your drive on another computer. I think your data is probably still there.

how do you know? Do you get any messages when you try to boot? BSOD?

No, i don't get BSOD. The problem is just its not detectable in my boot priority list. so i can't boot my windows from the HDD + as the HDD is not detected I am not able to backup my data. i have to use another PC to do so. If my HDD is not getting detected on other PC then ??

Does it show up in a removable USB-SATA external HDD interface? If so back up first.

If it gets detected it should be bootable, unless your bootmanager/bootsector are broken, in which case you need to repair them.

It gets detected in Sata 2 port in storage configuration but not in boot priority list. The HDD can not be set as booting drive either in sata 2 or sata 3 ports.

Have you tried connecting to another computer, either by SATA or SATA>USB cable? Is it detected there? If so, backup your data immediately.

If not, turning on raid in the BIOS may have written some kind of drivers or something onto the drive?

Asus Drive expert mode, its just an option for Intel raid ICH10R.

Asus Drive Expert mode has nothing to do with Intel.

This is actually some kinda Silicon Image contraption.

It can be configured as RAID0, 1, or back-up mode if using a single drive.

It sounds like you configured a RAID0 or 1 storage array and a normal OS can't "read" the RAID info and 'sees' nothing on the disk.

Maybe someone else can use this info to help with a solution.

finally, The data is safe, i connected and recovered the data from another pc.

I have formated and repartitioned the HDD. any suggestions for making the HDD work faster ??
