Supergirl - First look

This show does romance really poorly.

1) Olsen's romance fizzled, which is good, because there was absolutely no chemistry.
2) Mon-El as the romantic interest is really irritating. I was hoping for him to die off, just to add some weight to his character and so I wouldn't have to deal with him as the potential romantic interest.
3) Alex Danver's coming out and romance is terrible. It seems really fake. It feels like a low budget Hallmark drama.

I caught the beginning of one of the episodes where Arrow weirdly said he didn't want her involved because she was an alien. That was very blatant that the writers didn't know what to do with her. Terrible.

Yeah, the whole premise made no sense, they bring her so she can train them, then she is basically target practice, for fire, bullets & arrows? No tactics, no plan to "stop" supergirl, just everyone in a small room, shoots their weapon at her? Eh? WTH?
What about scout the aliens first, scan for threats, and why would that alien tech work on her anyway?

And the first episode of the new season brought with it more plot holes / bad writing.

The more stupid things were, a "Sun" grenade to "energize" Supergirl, the old hitting on the control panel to get it to work trick, and the the whole "rescue" of Supergirl in the first place, not to mention of her going through the portal in the first place.
No space suits (for the Manhunter?) or anyone else?
They waltz right into the base?
The weapon choices?

I do give them some credit for having SG escape before being rescued. And the sun grenade I thought was a nice addition. Sure, it's stupid, but then what about this show isn't.

Agreed...I haven't watched a single episode of this show since it looks terrible, but it would be nice to see her in more stuff.

The only thing I can think of is he was fighting a white martian so maybe that was it.

Remember his race was wiped out by them so clearly that ability would not had been useful if it was able to be used against them.

Hell they had a bunch of the green martians inside a prison on mars so it's just a crappy ability that only works when the writers wants it to make sense.

Supergirl singing? Flash dancing? Legions being... well, lame as always.

I am at a loss for how they even thought up of this mess, or how they thought they needed to turn it into a musical.

Not that it's a good reason to make these superhero shows into musicals, but a bunch of them are from Glee and other shows like that.

Then, of course, the "live feed" couldn't be traced back, since, you know, that would have made it too easy, along with the "booby trap" that accelerated the timetable, nope, don't trace that as well, but, they sure did have a excellent connection for the live feed, in a secure base.
