Watched the pilot, and it was pretty bad. Her friend makes a 'suit' for her, and she goes after some bankrobbers. She wants right towards them while they fire their machineguns, disarms them and kicks their asses. Returns with a cloak full of bulletholes (the cloak was on her back, and the bullets came from the front. Did someone shoot from the back too?), but of course the rest of her suit doesn't have a scratch on it (omg! you might otherwise see some flesh!). So instead he uses material from some damage resistant material which he happens to have lying around, working at a newspaper.
Why didn't he also use some of his classified military grade materials and knowledge to create a potion for her that totally nullifies the effects of Kryptonite?
The rest was as bad or worse still tbh. (Only Kryptonite can make super* vulnerable, but that axe could hurt her?)
