I agree, that's annoying. They apparently have to add drama to the chase scenes.

Olson: "1 million tons of condense dwarf star" ... Oh, and she picks it up like it was nothing, but in previous episodes, she could barely handle the jet?

Well, she didn't fly with the dwarf star. She was also out of practice when flying with the jet.

Supergirl "pushes" the missile off course, instead of guiding it into space/water?

Another weird thing about this Supergirl: Apparently she and Superman can't fly in or survive in space.

To top it all off, Winn writes "malware" to take out Braniac? You know how far fetched this would be?

On the other hand, I'm thinking Winn may be some kind of super-smart meta-human. He picked up Kryptonian "over the weekend".

I think they will have a success here in season 2. Some random points:

1. While I'm not a big fan of having Superman dilute the show, I'm glad they've gotten rid of the ridiculous scenarios that kept him out of the show before.

2. I'm glad the

romance angle is dead

. It was completely unnecessary and felt really forced. Actually, I'd be happy if they got rid of that character completely, because it's almost superfluous.

3. They got a new headquarters. It was lamely introduced but nonetheless, it's a nice fresh start and isn't as dreary.

4. I'm glad she has a new job. The clumsy assistant schtick was getting old. The new job will offer her more leeway too for her second job as Supergirl.

5. They seem to be piling on with the female characters but I'm totally fine with that cuz it works. If they can continue to capture that female demographic then great. We need more geeks dictating TV trends IMO, whether female or male.

6. The special effects weren't top tier, but they weren't too tier in season 1 either, and I'm ok with that too. For shows like these, special effects are important but ultimately are of secondary importance compared to the storytelling.

Overall for the season 2 premiere, I give it a solid 3/5.

I like the show. Big fan of the flash, but supergirl is nice eye candy and its entertaining enough for what it is. Some of the storyline doesn't match up with what we know of "traditional" superman powers, like lifting entire cities, etc, but its cute and funny enough, and I'll keep watching it. Plus, little Grey is so adorable..

First season, the kryptonite suit was harmful to supergirl, now, they are side by side, and this was after the shield device was ripped off of her.
I am shocked the Martian Manhunnter actually phased into his body and removed the kryptonite device from that guy.
I also thought that plan that supergirl came up with was pretty lame. Let's make it guys team up and girls team up, instead of having them all team up and take them out pretty much instantly, but, I do understand they wanted 'girl power', since that is what this show is all about.

I still give this season a marginal at best rating, the writing quality is just so poor.

Yeah, this episode was terribad. I almost didn't finish it. Whatever happened to kryptonians being so supremely powerful? Now it seems that any and every off worlder shares their strength and can go toe to toe with them. That's not how the comics were written nor how it's supposed to be.

In any case, supergirl is getting weaker & weaker for no apparent good reason. The bad guys in this episode should have been KO'ed in 2 mins tops.
She also has terrible aim with her heat vision/laser beams.
At least they poked fun at the glasses "disguise".

Now, we get to look forward to another sidekick that has no actual powers besides being a back-belt, but the new suit he is getting is supposed to give him something. (which also makes no sense, since the person designing the suit doesn't have that kind of brain power.)

Last nights episode spent way too much time on the sister and her coming out. Probably close to 10 minutes (out of ~44 minutes of the actual show) I thought I was watching a soap opera at some points. I'm so happy that I have a 30 second skip button because character development is all well and fine but this was just way way too much.

You need to remember that this is what cw likes doing.

In either case this episode had supergirl making a few city blocks radioactive.

Another episode where the Martian Manhunter could have ended the whole parasite thing in the blink of the eye, he can phase through things, grab the heart/parasite, and be done with it.
But, nope, let's get supergirl to "overcharge" the parasite with a ball of plutonium, never mind that, that wasn't tested, and she couldn't possibly know if it would even work, but, nope, it should just work!

At least someone came prepared for supegirl's radioactive scene, the Guardian--Which she just happen to xray to see who it was, and shocka, it was lead lined!

The 4 episode crossover arc starts...

Things started off with Supergirl, not sure how the Fortress of Solitude's defenses were so bad that it allowed someone to enter just by having some blood, and steal a virus that would wipe all aliens out except for kryptonians.
Then have the whole Kara's sister coming out party fluff...
Fast forward to having their mom reverse engineer, then re-engineer the same virus that was stolen to save everyone, and even cure the Martian Manhunter all in the span of a few hours!
Then fast forward yet again to find out those time bubbles were actually Flash trying to contact Supergirl, which is the ONLY part of the arc, yeah, that whole 2 mins of screen time.
Not sure why they even bothered.

Flash needs help to the point where he crosses dimensions to get Supergirl, and she doesn't suggest bringing Superman, Martian Manhunter and Mon El... Even her sister can handle herself in a fight. And now there is Guardian. Plus they really missed out on the super nerd trifecta by not having Winn with Cisco and Felicity! Kinda felt like they didnt know what to do with Supergirl. Very little crossover in her episode, and aside from Flash they tried not to use her at all. Granted, she's pretty OP compared to Flash, Arrow and the Legends characters, but they could have done more to integrate her.

I caught the beginning of one of the episodes where Arrow weirdly said he didn't want her involved because she was an alien. That was very blatant that the writers didn't know what to do with her. Terrible.

Yeah I wasn't 100% clear there. IIRC, Rossman even created a webpage (with a hilarious URL) devoted to Casio's man love for Welling.
